What's your latest tech purchase?

Back around Black Friday, I picked up a Ryzen 5600G for $130. I mainly got it because it seemed like a lot of CPU for the money.

Until now, it's been sitting unused in its box. But a couple of weeks ago, I ordered an ASRock DeskMini X300 for $150. Other sellers on Amazon would've shipped it faster, but it was a difference between paying $150 and $210.

It arrived a couple of days ago. It's definitely a neat device. I threw the 5600G in along with some DDR4-2133 SODIMMs that I had lying around and my old 250GB 970 EVO, and it works.

I currently have some more appropriate memory on the way, and I plan to get a new CPU cooler and SSD at some point.

I have x300 also. It is my "summer" pc. My other pc's produce too much heat at summer. With this I can at least do some work, surf on internet and play some older games.

Couple months ago, I was thinking about upgrading CPU to 5600G. But I saw news about those new Ryzen 7000-series DeskMini versions which are coming. Also there should be new APU's with newer GPU-architecture. So I am waiting those.

In my x300 I have Ryzen 5 4650 Pro and 2x8GB G.skill 3000MHz b-die memory kit. Memory works at 3800MHz with stock timings 16-18-18-43 1t with 1.35 volts(max). This APU just won't go any higher. Infinity fabric is the reason. But I did know this when I bought this cpu.

Cooling I have on CPU is Jonsbo HP400S(it was cheaper than Noctua heatsink). It fits in barely with that VRM heatsink->it is touching the VRM heatsink. SSD I have in is PNY CS3030 512GB(from time before they changed components). I had Intel 3150 Wifi in this, until I changed it month ago to Intel AX200.

These came with a product but omg why Phanteks, why?
Blx3C0U.jpg

As with most pwm fans these have the annoying ticking and vibration at low rpm. Straight to the bin with these.

Didn't exactly buy these (I won them and a bunch of other racing gear). But holy jebus, they are ultra-high quality, ultra-lightweight, full carbon fibre construction. I have never felt a better built wheel in my life.

Waiting on the rest of the equipment to arrive before I can assemble my cockpit.

Oh yeh and kudos to DHL. Dispatched from Croatia on Monday and ready for pickup from my local DHL service centre today in Sydney (Friday).

Yes, why indeed, replacing NBs with Phanteks F would be a headscratcher for sure

Curious if you're in the market for 140mms, I am too. Been looking into Silent Wings 4 but still thinking. My ailing iPPC A14-2000 finally died and noctua just sent out a replacement after making me break its fan blades :fear:

I haven't decided hahaha. Most likely Assetto Corsa Competizione or Dirt Rally 2.

Bought some MX-4 Thermal paste, cause they didn't have Kryonaut :shadedshu:

Those 3-pin E-loops are still better than the shitty Phanteks. Currently, sound wise, the only 4-pin fans I kinda like are the Alpenföhn Wing Boost 2's (great for case fans only) and the Noctua A12's (bit louder but work fine on rads too). Them be quiet's look great but are expensive though..then again so are the 140mm E-Loops.
:toast:

:eek:Those look great. Did you get the wheel base too or do you already have one?

I don’t have one (still run a TM T300 RS) but I did also win a Simucube 2 Ultimate as part of the package :D

Definitely upgrade that RAM to 3200mhz. You will dramatically improve your gaming and GFX performance!

Otherwise, badass little system! Very cool!
Oh yeah. With the 2x4GB at 2133MHz, it performs on par with Intel graphics in my laptop. 1x8GB 2133 cuts that nearly in half.

I've run this chip in my main system with 2x16GB 3800 and I know there are significant performance gains to be had. It approaches the Steam Deck in terms of performance.

The 16GB 3200MHz kit I ordered should arrive today, and I'll probably post about it after work.

Whenever I have tech stuff I no longer want, but isn't worth selling I just call my nephew up, he works at McDonald's and doesn't have much in life, he will take anything and he loves it. Don't throw away stuff, pass them on, you would be surprised how much you could make someones day honestly.

Grew sick having to move my headphones aroynd from one device to another, so.. mixer time!

Niice, wish i had a wheel setup.. unfortunately i dont really have the space and knowing my self if i had to plug/unplug stuff every time I had to use it i simply would opt.. not to.

WTAF? Seriously? You throw away perfectly good fans because a minor noise at low RPM? That's crazy... :kookoo:
I agree, you should at least give them away to a friend or family member @SN2716057
Exactly! Throwing them away is very wasteful..

Wow..okay okay, calm down. I'll take them out the trash and offer them for free.

But they aren't good fan, imo, most of time my case fans spin at 5 to 7 Volts and if they rattle it's a no go for me.

Bought a new double shielded optical cable.

Should come in on the 3rd Im hype!

Newegg.com Order #_ 368609399 - Google Chrome 1_28_2023 11_54_00 AM (2).png

Grabbed this Instinct MI25 off ebay since they're going for dirt cheap, $160 cad shipped vs $300+ for a Vega 64.

As it is it's pretty useless having only linux drivers available, but by flashing it into a WX 9100 it becomes actually useful.
This card has a "hidden" mini-dp which is activated after the bios is flashed allowing it to be used as a normal gpu.

I did it the "hard way" by de-soldering the bios eeprom and flashing it with my TL866 programmer then soldering it back on.

Works perfect so far other than the 170W power limit, with a little bit of an undervolt it runs around 1400MHz.

Best. Air. Intake. Ever.

Went a little crazy... I decided, to buy a new gen card. That meant a new psu also. I like to have a backup for just in case. Bought psu's from Corsair.

you already have a HX1000? probably would have been fine not getting any PSU, let alone 2... why not just use your HX1000 as backup and only buy 1 new one...
