HD2600/2400 Series Overclocking and Feedback thread

:)

still clocking

now try it at 857. i think u will see the same result.... because when i clock my card to 884 there was no different in fame rate from 857 to 884 even to 904....

880/1090: 3DMark05=12.330.
Surely your problem is related to CrossFire configuration.. I think ATI has a lot of work to do on their CS drivers..
Try it with a single card.

is it true about the ddr4 version having a bios bug so you cant go past 857 on the core?if so hasnt anyone fixed it yet with a new flashable bios? i say it like its easy but common someone must have tried a hard mod on the voltage side?

ps i should be getting a ddr version very very soon woop woop sm3/4 here i come:laugh:

it works if u clock it straight to 884 or 904...

cheers that cleared somthing up for me, still no v mods tho?anybody know anyone who is working on it? i guess a lot of people will be working on the 2900 rather then the 2600 :ohwell:

Hey Guys,

I've done some tests with my Laptop, a Toshiba A200-17O (powered by an Ati Mobility HD2600)

Here's the System:
Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 (1.8ghz and "only" 2MB L2-Cache)
Ati HD2600 @ 700mhz core/ 570mhz memory. (Default: 500mhz core/400mhz memory) mod Catalyst 7.9
2024mb DDR2-667mhz ram Dual-Channel
Windows Vista Home Premium (I guess this one kills some of the points too, especially on the older versions which have some seriously strange hick-ups in the CPU tests (partially 0 fps) or the "Mother Nature" test of 03.)

So, I guess everything relevant has been told. Here are my results, enjoy:

3DMark 03: 10472
3DMark 05: 7692
3DMark 06: 4133 (Just for the record, as this is the only one I tested without any OCing, it has 3180 non-OCed)

I'm pretty satisfied with these scores as the Laptop was actually rather cheap compared to other similiar set-ups (950€, in the US it would most likeley sell for 1000$ I presume) and performs quite well in real-life gaming environment (e.g. Colin McRae Dirt runs at ~25fps at "High" (except shadows and particles set to medium) @ 1024x768, 2xAA.

Next to OC would be the CPU, but since noone knows the PLLs yet, I'll have to wait (not opening up my new Laptop just yet :ohwell: )

That is all,

Good night to y'all.

Oh, before I forget it, this would be the Vista Performance Marks for the system (overclocked, GFX1 was 4.9 and GFX2 (Games) was 4.8 before OC) [sorry for the german]:

Nice. My Girlfriend has a Asus F3Ka also with HD2600 M. Running at 500-400 MHz. I was overclocking it but 3dmark 2001 SE did not get any boost when i ran 550-450. But when i see your clocks i can easily go higher :)

The AMD GPU tool made the HD2600M Crash serveral times. I just got a black screen but when i waited it got back again i guess VPU recover kicks in.

I will try to run 03 and 06 some day and then overclock the gpu again. Its really a pity that there are not a lot of laptops with the HD2600 XT M board.

i'm having problems overclocking my gigabyte hd 2600 xt gddr4, in the sense that ati gpu clock tool gives me a blank screen and i need to restart, ati tool 27b2 can't remember any clock settings, and finally ati ccc simply doesn't care if my frequencies pass the so called test of theirs, the curent clock settings are always the same 800/1100
i'm running vista 32 bit ult on a p35-ds4 board
any advice is welcomed, and since the folding client for the 2x00 series seems to be hanging, i want to see my vga card burn

clock the core straight to 890 then it'll goto 884 by itself... don't try to clock it between 865 - 880 because it'll just crash. this is a bios bug....

ati ccc is limited to 857/1179 .... ati tool and amd gpu clock tool don't work for me, not even for a miserly 10 MHz

don't use CCC... amd gpu clock tool should work if u clock it past 880.... make should u exit ati tool first.. if that doesn't work, try uninstalling the Catalyst software (not the driver) then try to overclock

it seems to be working with amd gpu clock, no more ati ccc for me, ati tool 0.27b2 reports correct, gpu-z 0.0.6 doesn't
back to testing

damn, you're kicking my ass
what clocks are you running?
and that e2180 at 4.4 must be helping a lot aswell

Its not 4.4Ghz, I'm running 8x multiplier instead of 10x so it's 3.55Ghz :)
Card running at 920/1090; can't get higher clocks stable with both GPU and RAM OC'ed.. w8ing for that damn VMod...

I can't get my card ANY faster with AMD GPU Clock Tool, or ATI Tools at all....
I get blue or gray lines through my screen with ANY amount of overclock...

With ATI Overdrive I have gotten to-
857-1179...

But thats where it maxes out.... Really sucks... :(

On the plus side I'm up to 5427 3dmark06
