Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2 NVMe SSD

Silicon Power listing on Amazon US (sold by Amazon, not a third party seller) posted this 3115TBW spec.
Also, Silicon Power's direct Online Shop publishes the 3115TBW endurance rating.
https://sp-siliconpower.com/product...ie-gen3x4-m-2-2280-internal-solid-state-drive

So it may look to me that Silicon Power is (deliberately?) confusing us. Why would they use a number on the datasheet and a different one on the item description on their own online store. I don't know how @GabrielLP14 handles conflicting information but maybe this is something worth looking into.
Yeah it's a pain in the ass, i use data from the manufacturers website and based on reviews (tests)

Paid 54EUR from mine as it was on sale, even though I run this on a PCIe 3.0 platform, seems like a great one for the value.

I bought NV2 1TB from AliExpress for just $57.99. The nand is Intel 144L QLC. The BOM of Kingston entry level consumer SSD is not stable.

Thanks a lot, I ordered it for my brother as a holiday and birthday present, it won't be used as a system drive, but a data drive, purely for games. I thought it still contained TLC chips, it cost less than $53, should I return the drive?

It should be fine for a game drive.

I intend to buy a 2TB Kingston NV2 for use as an external backup drive in a Fideco 10gbps enclosure.
For backups once or twice a month, it won't leave the enclosure.
I wonder if is ok for that use, I'm buying in amazon mexico and price difference is big from this one to others:
$114 Kingston NV2
$120 WD Green SN350 (I think is worse than NV2)
$135 MSI M371 (worse than NV2?)
$144 Crucial P3 (worse than NV2? and too close to the better SN570)
$147 WD Blue SN570

Hello. Saw this thread by mistake a few days ago. Just wanted to confirm that I recently purchased the 1Tb NV2 ssd, specifically the 019.A00G revision and I can confirm it's QLC+ SM2267XT. Can't really complain, since it was like 160ron ( or ~35$ ) because I had a voucher for 100ron ( ~22$ ) available and it's an upgrade from my previous 2x480Gb sata3 2.5" ssds ( Kingston A400 480gb+Adata SU650 480gb ).

Purchased NV2 2TB from Amazon Mexico
013.A00G TAIWAN it's QLC+SM2267XT
I tested in Gen4 motherboard before put it in its final destination (USB 10GBPS Enclosure)
I didn't have heatsink to test it in the motherboard (X570), I can confirm that the drive under load went very fast to 60-65ºC and WHEN IT REACH 60ºC THE SPEED START TO DROP.
The drive start to throttle even inside the benchmarks tools ( you could see that in ATTO image)
Also in Crystaldiskmark write speed is affected with the built up heat of previous tests, once I tested secuencial write only with the drive cool and reached to 2700 MB/s

ATTO KINGSTON NV2 2TB.jpg

Then this are the results inside a FIDECO M203CP 10GBPS Enclosure. Using the case as heatsink (with thermal pad included) the temp maintained below 40ºC during the tests.

@pablo712 Thanks for making the comparison of internal vs external!
Really poor random read speed on USB here... Does this usually happen when one connects a SSD in a USB enclosure?

Considering this drive as well to replace the drive on my spare laptop (250GB m.2 sata ssd), any long term experience so far?
Or get a Transcend m110S or PNY?

Hi all,
NV2 2TB bought in Italy this month, no other info because now is installed on motherboard covered by heatsink.
It's a TLC type and goes very well:

I'm actually surprised that in 2023 they're still selling TLC, I'm touched!
most currently are TLC, we're seeing more and more 1Tb TLC dies instead of the Usual 512Gb

Bought mine few months back on mindfactory. Using gen3 motherboard with heatsink.

Hello! Could someone help me please? I would like to know about the chip of this SSD. TLC or QLC? Unfortunately the NVME SSD flash id (Ochkin Vadim) software doesn't work (Win10, incompatible nvme driver), not even in safe mode. I couldn't find any information on the net based on 004.A00G or serial etc.

Did you leave the SSD Unpartitioned and not initialized?

No. It has 2 partitions. Windows 10 installed.
That could be the reason, sometimes when you have it like that it doesn't detect it properly

It's possible, but based on the codes on the sticker many people can identify the chip type even without the program.

Yes not precisely though, you won't know exactly which die the ssd is using

I bought one from my local store few days ago 1TB capacity. I can't make the test for the chip manifacture because the test fail.
The code is 019.A00G, so based to other test with my same code my M2 should mount QLC memory.
I am so happy about the speed and temperature. Under stress test the max temperature reached was 66° C without any heatsink
Even with a Motherboard PCI 3 I have a good speed test same as a TLC memory I guess.
happy for now.

# Update of #134 #
For general information and differences on the controller and memory type, see my post #109.
There is no visible difference between QLC and TLC. If you estimate a difference post an example please.

List of versions:
  1. 002.A00G - TLC - TW
  2. 002.A01G - TLC - TW, CN
  3. 004.A00G - ??? - TW
  4. 005.A00G - TLC - CN
  5. 007.A00G - ??? - TW
  6. 009.A00G - QLC - CN
  7. 012.A00G - QLC - TW
  8. 013.A00G - QLC - TW
  9. 019.A00G - QLC - TW

- added 004.00G, updated 012.A00G, 013.A00G, 019.A00G

Newegg has the 4TB for $299 Canadian. That is not bad I am probably going to get one when I get paid.
