I've only ever encountered that on my tablet through the YouTube app. Never from within Opera, so I assume the built-in blocker works well to remove it.

The thing is the videos I do watch (mostly board game stuff and old Cracked) became a LOT more bearable so I enjoy them more. Also I mostly watch on a tablet with the app so there's that.

I miss a lot of ads by using a Roku, how ever not all do it.

It doesn't matter if they don't want you to use it, they cannot tell you what to use on YOUR computer.
I don't even had an Ad blocker installed but turning the privacy settings in Edge to strict & very high made one of those things show up on the ww.weather.com. I'm pretty sure that also violates the law as it's your property. They have no right to even know if you are using one or not.

I suppose just wait until they figure out a way to make ad blocking a violation of the DMCA.

They can do that now if they want, they just don't because it's technically "Treason" in the U.S.A. The government usually just pays a third party to do it for them instead. The governments already got technology that can snoop hard drive data through motherboard, just by having the ether cord plugged in & the computer completely turned off.

im fine if they do this, im not married to the youtubers i watch, i'll just stop watching lol

I have 3x Roku Ultras and none of them AdBlock did you side load something in?

Don't get ads on my Roku 3's i do how ever on the cheaper wireless one which has loads more ads.

Nope, no such message. So far at least and if I get it. I am not going to change, I am keeping my money in my wallet.

They can f of. I have other solutions to watch commercial free if they eventually block ad blocker. I miss the good old times when youtube was totally ad free.

Manifest V3 version of ublock. no issues and no warnings.

Plenty of websites check to see if you're using an adblocker. It's up to them if they want to grant you access or not.

I am using Malwarebytes browser guard, dunno, it skips YT ads as a bonus. Haven't had any popups. Nor PC nor on Android using it.

The day ad blockers no longer work on YouTube will be the day I no longer use anything made by Google. Maybe I'll keep my Android phone, but that will be it.

I haven't seen the pop-up on my end yet (using uBlock Origin on Chrome/Windows and AdGuard on Chrome/mobile). I'll keep an eye out and post here if I see anything.
Pine64

Opera GX Gaming browser. Same as YT premium. Can't believe no one has mentioned it.

I subscribe to YouTube Premium, but on the occasion that I have watched something without logging in, I wasn't prompted with it

That is in the DCMA expect it only applies to when you Ad block for everyone who views the web site.
Meaning it's not enforceable to end users as the browser you load is on your device & does not modify the existing website for others.

Next up: adblock blocker blocking features? Still, it's kind of hard to avoid baked in advertisements in the videos that are sponsored by NordVPN or somesuch. If I had a dollar for every in-video NordVPN sponsorship I've seen...

No problems for me but the way removed shorts from the subscriptions page and that I now have to click twice to add a video to a queue on that page is killing my experience

Adblock is piracy, and they do have rights.
