What are you playing?

i fell like i'm setting myself up for disappointment, being Ubi and all, but i so want this to be good
what's that?
a ubicopy of forza horizon?

I have the crew2, FH4 and FH5, I still prefer FH5, won't be buying motorfest...

what's the problem with having another good game? just lets hope it is good. If it is i don't care who made it or what it's called

Nothing wrong, that was just my opinion.

Hope you enjoy The Crew Motorfest. :)

The online gaming community in general has gotten so toxic towards specific publishers or AAA gaming as a whole and even though I kind of get it I only care if the game is good I don't give two $h!+s if it is published by EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo etc.

Why do you personally prefer FH5 over FH4?

My thoughts on CM before seeing any in game footage were considerably less diplomatic if you look back a page or two. They were of course offered in good humor without attempts to portray toxicity. Hard not to see this as laughable to some degree or another.

It's fashionable to hate everything these days, unfortunately.

Went back to playing DS2 for a bit of nostalgia, definitely NOT playing any COD game, have uninstalled MW 2.0 as well.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Currently struggling with (what I assume to be) the final boss of the Lies of P demo
This free chunk turned out heftier than anticipated, which I applaud. I like the game, many have tried to evoke the "Bloodbornesque" aesthetic into their game, and this one is definitely among the finer examples

I'm getting a bit depressed driving in GB (weather sucks too), also I prefer the steering wheel on the left and driving on the right side of the road....:D

I don't think I can recall any time when "gamers" hasn't complained.

In the '90s, we didn't complain. But then, as a child, every game was new and interesting in some way, so there's that. :ohwell:

The quality of games has taken a downturn in recent years due to being rushed out full of bugs and performance issues and sometimes completely broken for the average gamer hardware so of course there is going to be more complaining. It's going to get worse due to the obvious reason.

That's one side of the coin - and you're absolutely right. The other side is sensationalism, and people's inclination to complain. I mean, everybody remembers how much hate Cyberpunk 2077 got when it was released. I started playing it about a month later, and it wasn't just fine, but I actually enjoyed it.

Expectations were very high for Cyberpunk 2077 due to hype from CDPR. There were over 8 million pre-orders for the game due to that. It wasn't as good as gamers had been led to believe that it would be on release. For PC gamers the bugs weren't too bad but for console gamers the bugs were atrocious and the game was unplayable. It was so bad for Sony PS gamers that Sony pulled the game from their store until it was partially fixed.

Back in the 90s we were satisfied with playing tetris....

True that. On the other hand, I remember watching bug compilation videos. In one of them, the player could walk on water in a fountain. I went to that same fountain in the game, and saw that the water in it wasn't even an inch deep. Of course anybody could walk in it any time. There was another glitch that was triggered by the player swimming miles off the map into the ocean, and to the bottom of it. Why would you do that, and why would the things you see there impact your gameplay experience?

"Gamers" wasn't really a thing either back then. As in what modern gamers are. They have always been a vindicative bunch.

too much debate ... just play :p

rainy day... in whiterun ...

XXXXXth run of Dawnguard for my 1861.3hrs of Skyrim AE ... 254 non light and 459 lights mods

ran quite nice ... very scenic ... installed some mods blind without checking reviews or previews (in short, using a collection template) ... WTF?!? moment when i saw Masser and Secunda but DAMN they look awesome

killed Harkon, went vampire side ... Serana got a sister? oh ... (NPC appearance was also blind pick but i kinda knew what to expect when i saw Moolgogi name on the files for Serana, Lucrezia and Valerica ... i don't mind, i do not like my vampire to look like Nosferatu or gargoyle ... i like them more refined and Valerica sure does not look like melted candle wax this time )
20230615023626_1_proc.jpg
and they do interact with each other according to the event unfolding (i am a fan of extended character work while Lucrezia had some custom work using vanilla voice with lot of work in it ... Serana got a treatment that make her literally on par with Inigo or Auri ... i am impressed)

to not break lore, Lucrezia is most likely not Valerica's daughter, and probably not a true daughter of Coldharbour, thus would not be exsanguinated by Harkon for the Tyranny of the sun prophecy (well Serana had the Elder Scroll (blood) with her ... so it does not matter or break storyline )

one of the feature was immersive mods (better animation/expression/interactions et caetera ) so when going to bed you actually have a pov and the sleep time/wait go on same way as normal wait ... except that you have to actually lie down on/get up off the bed before and after ... waking up i see a pair of leg on the bedside i decide to look up and i saw that ...

yep not a molten wax candle ... but the scene was hilarious ... specially if she did not get to another bed in the house (usually followers go to bed same time as the player ) and stayed all the day (well not night ofc ) on the bedside looking at my neck

my motto : "begone, potato childrens, molten wax elderly peoples and ugly vampires (unless they are ferale which do exist in the elder scroll franchise)"

Excitebike on through about Goldeneye didn't provoke the same tendencies so heavily furrowing modern games.

Neckbeard lvl. 9999 was a personal accomplishment that would require someone actually visiting to encounter.

You've made me curious if they still have all four seasons in FH5.

If so what delineates them, thematic material being the only differentiator inside a mostly sunbaked atmosphere. Christmas lights on a Saguaro, pastel Easter Bunny popping up in random places,...

The climate varies in Mexico, but there are usually just two seasons, wet and dry and then sometimes a sandstorm.
Overall more tropical which I prefer vs the mostly depressing cloudy weather in GB...

I agree, but online communities as a whole are worse than they've ever been not just with games but Movies, anime etc.

that's a sad trend (and a recent one ... from my first NES to my first 1999 computer i did not notice such level of complaining  ) i'm old gen gamer (well ... never liked that calling ... "gamer" )
i don't complain, i play ... i have yet to find a single game where i did not have fun and got anything major to complain about, yes even CP2077
minor complaint do count? nah, i call them constructive opinions

or ...

well i do not play it multi ... that might help ...

and i rarely play game i know i would not like (not basing myself on review ... i have a lot of "overwhelmingly negative" game in my steam library that i enjoy  )

on the other hand i complained about dev/publisher dropping a game ... like Firefall or Tera ... oh well, my backlog is huge enough to
Let it go, let it go
I am one with the wind and sky
Let it go, let it go
You'll never see me cry
Here I stand and here I stay
Let the storm rage on

yeah i know, the door is on the left ... i'm out ...
