I'm thinking about modifying the front fan intake config. Which type of alignment is more feasible in your opinion. the one with smaller but large numbers, or bigger fans with smaller number? Noise is not my concern. Sample pictures are attached:

Lmao that's an interesting configuration. How's the noise on those small fans

Edit... oh those aren't your pc.

Depends on the fans you are using.

If you want massive airflow look at server fans, Delta or alike, but they are very noisy.....

Go with 2 x 140, best fan you can afford.

I wish I could help you but I only have only one 40mm Noctua fan and it is running very quiet even at 5000 rpm. The sound is barely noticeable.

I think two larger fans are probably the better configuration.

Also there is a brand called "ebm papst" which have been claimed to be the number one. Although I've never seen them in the pc market yet.

"More sensible" I'd go for the larger fans though.

Well all fans make noise, delta are like 2600 RPM or so yeah they can be very noisy but the silent fans typically don't go that high.

Personally like Pana\Delta or even the SilverStone FHP141 fans just run them at a lower RPM if their too much, and on top of that they are commonly 140x38mm too and not 25mm.

All so depends on your cooling needs too like if it's hot like now here i know i have that extra cooling power when needed.

I'd go 140mm when ever possible.

There are lots of debate about noctua versus be quiet! and I have to ask to you as well.. Which one would you choose if they are both the same price?

In the 140mm size I'd go with the bequiet.... In the 120mm size it's a toss up between them and the NF-A12x25 but I would still lean silent wing pro 4.

I personally use the T30s from phanteks they are awesome but 30mm thick.

Well I replaced my 3 Noctuas with 3 Be Quiet ones, but only because I had compatibility issues, they would stop spinning after starting up my system.
I needed fans without 0rpm option. If my motherboard was good with the noctuas I wouldn't replace them. However black is nicer then brown imo..
These are 120mm fans I was talking about.

One option not mentioned is a box fan with a very large reducer.

I've used them they're usually mental and not to be used at home, for servers ,lab equipment etc.

Some of them will claim ignorant fingers they're that mental.

Too noisy or pricey?
At the industrial sector, it looks like they have no competitor, including Delta.

Noisy they're performance without compromise, literally in most cases ,avoid.

I have seen Papst fans on all kinds of CNC machines. Metal or plastic.. they are pretty rowdy..

I like my T30s.

I have two Corsair AirGuide 120mm (bundled with case) as intake, one ML120 Pro as exhaust, two ML120 in radiator on the top of the case and 2x be quiet! Pure Wings on the GPU cooler. On desktop usage, I can only hear the pump as I run it at full speed. Temps are more than fine and the PC is quiet even in demanding games.

Though I'll probably get something else for intake as these aren't PWM controlled.

SilverStone has a new version of of FHP141 V2 out. The labels on it are black and it draws slightly more power in Performance mode. I got one delivered Saturday in the botched Amazon fiasco (ordered two FHP141 V2's, one was the new one with the black labeling and the other that arrived was obviously used and all of the usual included hardware was missing) and the replacement for the used one showed up this afternoon. I was very happy to see it's another new one with the black labeling and everything was in the unopened box. I haven't tried either of them out yet.

With using Fan Control i do not need to use the switch on them, mine are V2 as well and use them on the bottom of the case.

i thought i got mine on a good deal $22 each fan for a 140mm x 38mm which replaced 2 of the 3 140mm fans under the video card, they push plenty of air a lot more than my Fractal Design ones which do pretty well but with the ambient getting up in the 32c+.

Not needed them to go any higher than 1300RPM and don't find that bad how ever over that and you really start to hear them but dam they push a lot of air.

What case is that, and how restrictive is the ventilation with the panels in place?

Hard to recommend a fan when we don't know what the air path is - restrictive grilles work better with smaller, higher RPM fans of a static-pressure design. Free-flowing cases are usually better served by larger, airflow-focused fans at a lower RPM.

Two larger fans woild be my choice. Highly suggest you do some real world testing. I place tiny thermometers at key places inside the case. Well as the thermal probe on my DMM. Hardware makers are good at perpetuating mindset that more is always better. For obvious reasons.

Thank you I'll go for the bigger fans with less numbers
