Post your Speedtest.net Speeds!

Got the fiber connection up and running today with Nokia GPon fiber box but I guess the fiber provider overbooks the crap out of the GPon splitter I cannot even reach 600mbit up and down :banghead:

I know the first 6 months is only £11.35 / 14.46USD and afterwards it's £38.87 / 49.52USD and they peer with Arelion, Lumen and Cogent which should be the big boys in the game but it doens't look like it :(

In country tests

Even my routing to the UK is now screwed up

My 1000/65mbit coax with is still running and cost £34.28 / 43.68USD which the provider peers from their network with Global Connect, Cogent but also if I remember correct Arelion and Lumen too was way better for my UK routing

I know it's the TP-Link Deco M5 because 50meters from me lives my dad and he is using the same Deco M5 on 1000/1000mbit fiber on GPon same fiber provider just a different isp and he manages 800-1000mbit which I would even be happy with but I guess fiber just ain't for me when I want to use the routing I do :(

The nokia one isnt great TBH, my ISP gave it to me, it had bad range, etc etc, they replaced it with a chinese one, which seems to be better. But some of my data probably goes to CCP.

Well here they dropped everything Huawei, ZTE and such even it was working and the chinese companies even had specialists on site it was way better but going from dedicated fiber in Q1 of 22 to GPon haven't been my luck really my dad not 50meters from me uses Nokia GPon up to 900mbit just different isp but same fibre owner so I guess the GPon splitter I am on is just overbooked since it's 10Gbit down but only 2.2Gbit up :banghead:

I know a little for fibre but I am a old cobber person from ADSL and Coaxial these I know how to talk about with the isp's and asking them for checking issues when I start a troubleshooting with the isps on fibre it's just getting too complicated and it doesn't make it better that most isps that even pays rent to be on the centrals have to bother with the local fibre operator because the goverment want a open network so all isps can operate everywhere when the technologi ain't the same across the country.

One of the biggest mobile, internet (coax) and fibre isps here using a Gensis FiberTwist with XGS PON with speeds up to 2500/2500mbit in selected areas.
Link: https://genexis.eu/product/fibertwist

Speedtest from a user up north in the country on XGS PON using the same isp as my coax with peering with Global Connect:

But even if I choose this isp I won't get the Gensis box because the local fiber operator uses the Nokia GPon so I am not really sure I want to bother because mentally it wears me out because I cannot get it fixed and I am not sure how to provide help other than GPon splitter might be overbooked locally but it properly won't change what's going on because I had the fibre operators isp same problems.

DSL line, we live 4 miles west of town, and that’s all that is/was available. Until the cable company just now ran Fiber out here. I have a 1 gig fiber connection coming next week!!

Congrats with getting fiber, and honestly everytime I try M247's network I have really slow speeds but UK2 is way better.

Germany has really really old cobber in most of the country I know that from work with my german customers it's very few of them that has fiber some got cable tv but adsl is more common.
Well. DSL is not the only point where germany is massive behind. ;) 30 years ago i made one of my degrees at the telecom University of applied sciences straight after visiting a university studying computer science (systems informatic building OSses, languages etc.). I'm living in the south of hesse. In the middle of europe. In a 3 yrs old building. Connected with DSL.

It's meant to be 1Gbps but for $15 a month, it's okay.

I'm getting different results while checking my internet speed test from different websites.

while I use speedtest.net I get high speed, but when I test my internet speed by test file download im getting different speeds. Maybe that is because of the server I'm using for the speed test.

Behind NordVPN. ISP contract is 400 Mbit.

And without VPN:

Decided to get a bit faster connection, for the time being at least.

Had my Fiber 1gb connection a month or so now. It's simply incredible!

When using a VPN, it costs me about 100mb. Not too bad.

It is quite an understatement to say 'nice upgrade' compared to your last post with DSL connection.

Fiber for the win!
Sadly I can't change provider, as this is the old government phone company and they're over charging like crazy compared to other suppliers and increased the price earlier this year.

Fiber for the win!

Don't say that the isp that owns the central here which I need to use doesn't have the capacity for gigabit outside their own network so you pay for gigabit which is £46 / 53,61 euros a month but you only really get 200/200mbit and they won't fix it anytime soon so I rocking on coax instead where I get between 800-900 mbps down and 65-67 mbps 24-7 for only £35 / 40,79 euros a month.

Was able to touch the 800 again today. Connected by Wifi 6e.
