Don't know why I never reach 900mbps.
Cable connection.

Not bad for the UK, upload speed sucks but I don't need higher

Try the Windows app, it tends to give you slightly better results.

There are still data limits in the US? I thought that only applied to backwaters like Oz...
The US still has its backwaters...

Generally no limits, unless you live in the sticks or you are using a budget ISP.

Only on mobile they have data limits here.

Lots of ISPs with data limits, still. Sad, huh?

I think it's around 1TB per month with Xfinity. I've had unlimited for so long I don't remember.

If it's still the same they give you 3 months that you can go over in a calendar year though.

AT&T Fiber is the only other high speed option but the reliability at least where I live is shite. The price with them includes unlimited as well but it's about the same as I'm paying for 1GB down.

Then it's not unlimited is it if you have a data cap it's limited truly unlimited has none of that BS the first month I had hyper fiber i went through 2.5TB and not one single complaint from my ISP

All wired connections in my country are unlimited (DSL, xDSL, ADSL, Coax, Fibre) it's only mobile solutions 4G and 5G that has a cap on which is understandable.

Despite the fact that the average results of speedtest.net users have increased significantly over the last 5 years, loading web pages takes about exactly the same time as 5 years ago.

In most situations the results you get on speedtest.net have no or very little impact on how fast websites load on your PC. So it has largely become an irrelevant benchmark.

Well it is unlimited for me becuase my plan has no data cap but the basic ones do.

I use way too much data otherwise.

You never download files?

Honestly I have 1.2Gbs speeds for loading ESPN bruh..... Not downloading games at 180MBs or streaming 4k on multiple devices.

I did notice an improvement in page load speed when going from 100mbps cable to 1000mbps cable. Not 10 times but maybe 2x faster now. Depends on the page of course, some are just bottlenecked server side.

Pages load nearly instantaneous for me as well so not sure they could actually even load faster.

Everything in California is expensive.
Massachusetts as well, I'm paying $99.99/mo for 500/25 Spectrum Cable. At least there are no data caps! I'm not sure if there will be eventually. The last time a company threatened data caps(Comcast of course) for wired internet, the state legislator temporarily outlawed it due to the Covid emergency. I also live in a technically monopolized market. Our choice is Spectrum or Verizon DSL(7/1 max speed). So a monopoly...

Xfinity even as crap as they can be gave me 25 usd bill credits all through covid covering my unlimited data. Maybe that was a California thing.

They are both douche bags. I love how when I first got this Spectrum package two, almost three years ago, it was 400/25, and I paid $59.99/mo.

"Thanks for paying your bill every month and sticking with us! For your loyalty as a customer, here's your yearly $15/mo price increase. Have a nice day!"

Let's stick to the topic and purpose of this thread ==> "Post your Speedtest.net Speeds!"
If you wish to have an ongoing discussion on costs, companies, data caps, and/or other related topics, please, start the appropriate thread for that.

Thank You

Got the fiber connection up and running today with Nokia GPon fiber box but I guess the fiber provider overbooks the crap out of the GPon splitter I cannot even reach 600mbit up and down :banghead:

I know the first 6 months is only £11.35 / 14.46USD and afterwards it's £38.87 / 49.52USD and they peer with Arelion, Lumen and Cogent which should be the big boys in the game but it doens't look like it :(

In country tests

Even my routing to the UK is now screwed up

My 1000/65mbit coax with is still running and cost £34.28 / 43.68USD which the provider peers from their network with Global Connect, Cogent but also if I remember correct Arelion and Lumen too was way better for my UK routing

I know it's the TP-Link Deco M5 because 50meters from me lives my dad and he is using the same Deco M5 on 1000/1000mbit fiber on GPon same fiber provider just a different isp and he manages 800-1000mbit which I would even be happy with but I guess fiber just ain't for me when I want to use the routing I do :(

Talk to your ISP it looks like they've provisioned your link speed wrongly

I already wrote them a email but I don’t think it’s the speed profile I more believe the fiber owner has over booked the GPon splitter but I will see.

If it’s not sorted I will cancel it because they cannot deliver and try to get my coax kept alive because these speeds are just wrong

I'm in the middle of nowhere inside germany. One has to be happy with that speed. Because it is the fastest one can get.
