Me too! Only mine was €181. Obviously for a different build.
Just noticed that on your specs it is still listed a B550 motherboard, but all other parts are AM5. Is it due to that?

Let the storage wars begin

Just snagged a refurbished (looks unused) Gigabyte OC RX 6800 for cheap! Really impressed so far.

I've been seeing these old enterprise SSDs on eBay for really cheap, so I decided to try one out.

It's a 2TB Micron 1100, and it only cost $50.

It seems to perform better than I expected it to in synthetics (this is with it in a USB 3 enclosure). I'm impressed by the endurance so far; 53TBW and still at 97% life left.

Might end up picking up a few more of them. I wouldn't use them for mission-critical stuff, but as extra storage drives in older PCs, they'd be perfect.

EDIT: Even this drive performs better than that 4TB QLC one in sustained sequential performance. This drive sustains around 270-300MB/s while copying large games over.

They're not the fastest drive ever, but they're great for the price.

Xserve and SAS trays.

The Xserve is dual E5520s. SAS trays allow using drives greater than 2.2TB - I'll be getting three 6TB SAS drives for it.

This has to count. Bought it for my little nephew and since installing my FPS has increased 2-fold. Let there be light, DINO LIGHT!!!!!

Right, so.... Been out the spending game for a while, sadly... I've a few purchases I'd like to share with you all :) Some are from late last year, I've just not sorted my time so wisely and with the WCG FAH stats I do, that seemed to take over... so, whilst I'm not being daft and silly.... Here we go with some presents :)

I grabbed some of these micro PCs because for the most part of what I do at home, I don't really need anything more powerful. These things sip power and seem as stable as a rock. I've been running them for ages now, I bought these back in November 2022 and I can honestly say I'm happy with them :) More than enough power for every day to day task I put to them, with 16GB of RAM also in each, they have been great :) I've even bought a friend 3 models as well (mixture of a 3080 and a pair of 3090s as he said he'd like them) They where a definite upgrade from my HP 260 G2 with an i3 CPU in there :)

With being crazy about audio kit as well as music, I have decided recently to go and start buying some LPs, so when this Dire Straits album I found was cheap and a special edition, I didn't hesitate :D Reminds me, I still need to go buy a record deck as well..........

Well what can I say, I saw a few EVGA Classified cards I didn't have in my collection and I managed to get them for a steal over in the UK so I'm very happy :D I have been aiming to find the Kingpin models (a bit like Jayztwocents has on his wall of EVGA art...) but sadly some have been for sale at the wrong time and I've not been able to get them.. they are still quite a crazy price but when I can find them, I might try :) I've a RTX 3090 Kingpin over in the US that my mate has in his rig, as I have my Asus Strix 3090 in the UK... I might try and grab it off of him one day or failing that, I might consider to find the 3090 TI Kingpin.. I've seen a few about....
I think the only issue with these few cards was that the GTX 680 box wasn't in the best condition and I think might be missing a few bits and pieces but its the only one I could find that had a box at all.. I made an offer, grabbed it anyways :D Heaven scores didn't seem to badly either when I tested them with my 6700k system - Just in case for those interested, here's the scores below :)

GTX 680 - 39.7 1659
GTX 780 TI - 74.7 3124
GTX 980 TI - 98.4 4116

I do believe I just tested them out the box settings, might have to give them another try at some point I think.....

Now I'm not sure I'd class this as a PC upgrade or tech maybe, but I thought I'd share... It's just an utter beast!! :D :D Used it for cleaning the driveway and rear patio, my word is it powerful... 2200w motor inside it and boy did it show!! :) Highly recommend this one, 20 year warranty as well :) Hopefully should last me a little longer :D

Another Dell Optiplex 3090 :D Another retail boxed model, which I'm hoping my best mate has been able to get and use by now... I'm not holding much hope though as I know what he's like!! :D

Now I was going to buy the girls a new set of keyboards as my eldest had a new set for her PC, so the Mrs's and Sophia I said about replacing theirs too, sadly though, being Amazon and being cheap cheap, I found out why... They didn't last long and I've sent them back..
The two mice however, they where great buys and I'm glad I did :D The girls mice where from a motherboard and mouse deal I had (Asus B450 board and free mouse when bought, so had two motherboards :D) which they've got now, not bad for free I think :D
I will need a bit of time to go through the next load of pics as 2023 has definitely been a year so far with very little hardware bought, so needed a fix coming here and looking at everyone else's buys!! :D Time to get posting the WCG updates for the day, I'll try and come back for a few more purchases and deliveries I've had this year I'd like to share with you all :D

Went down the YT rabbit hole yet again.
It felt really important to have the best cooling for the deck. :D

I just bought a few T-1 terminator heads off AliExpress, and am using them as uber-sensitive, ultra-smart security cameras & monitors for my extensive, multi-million $ classic car collection out back...

And NO, they are not connected to SkyNet in any way, lest I start another "Judgement Day", however, I am utilizing their extremely accurate targeting scanners to aim & fire my laser weapons at any unauthorized/unexpected visitors...

Same here.
Love those.

Slowly consing up my new gaming/development machine:
  • Have 128 GB unbuffered ECC DDR4
  • Asus prime x570
  • Blower-styke 2080ti (2 slots wide and loud)

Not sure yet on 5800x3d or 5950x and on cooler.

If you mostly game go with the X3D.
As for cooling can't go wrong with a Thermalright PA-120 or Frost Commander unless you need an AIO for space constraints or something.

My Deck never seems to get hot, I mostly play easy to run indie games though and I turn off the updated fan profile, so the fans run faster (my Deck came with a noise dampener already so I can barely hear the fan)

on topic: bought some cr2025 batteries for my rgb LED remote controls. highly recommend the Berlin Germany company called LICB for batteries, top notch, I like them better than Duracell and Energizer, intuitive packaging, high quality

Nope we arent doing this in this thread.

EDIT:: Now lets play nice.

more "Audio Tech" for me - an Adcom GFT 555 II Tuner in Mint Condition...

Yeah don't need better cooling unless it's overclocked.
