Hello,

I have a question for the owners of PNY GeForce RTX 4070 XLR8 or other people who have relevant information, whether the new rtx 4070 from PNY have the same problem with a different bios and higher minimum fan speeds, similarly to the rtx 4070 ti? I didn't find any information about it on the forum or on the Internet.

I was almost buying the 4070 PNY when I accidentally came across information that the new 4070 ti have changed fan settings, which makes them much louder.

Hi,

I own the model you're referring to, PNY RTX 4070 XLR8 (non Ti) and when it comes to fan speeds & noise, for me it's whisper quiet, even during gaming, undervolts & overclocks pretty well to. Max temps I usually get are around 67C - 69C and that was in a 30C+ room on default fan curve.

Tested out Resident Evil 4 Remake for around 40mins, maxed out 4K. Hardware Info reported default fan curve is around 40% - 42% which is around 1100rpm - 1200rpm, GPU temps hovers around 68C - 69C / Memory junction temps were around 74C / and GPU hot Spot 83C and that is with a 150Mhz GPU overclock and a 1000Mhz Memory overclock.

Mine has the problem but it is resolved by bios provided by PNY.
It reverts the fan curve

But anyway, at 1450 RPM the card is absolutely silent. They don't go beyond the noise of my 240mm aio. Don't worry about it.

I saw your posts in PNY 4070 Ti thread. Do you have 4070 Ti version or 4070?

Ure results seems like the same sample as in the techpowerup review, they had in gaming about 1050rpm but without OC, so your results seem to be similar to theirs (taking into account that you did the oc which increases the power consumption and therefore the temperature).

Thats ok, I made this thread cause i wanted to know, if the 4070 has the same fan issue as 4070 ti, and there is almost no info in the internet about 4070, ive wrote to PNY but got no answer (over 2 weeks ago).

Yup you're right, it falls in line with Wizzards review of this model while factoring in my overclocks.

Purchase date was August 7th. Cheers.

I have just received and installed 4070 XLR8 GPU. I can confirm that for me fan curve starts from 30% - 700 RPM.
