What's your latest tech purchase?

XFX really are one of the last remaining edgelord vendors of the PC world aren't they... lol
Do you remember the THICC cards?

Last month I bought a Garmin Zumo XT which is designed for motorcycles and it really is excellent, so much better than my old Nuvi 67.
The screen is incredibly bright, it has WiFi and Bluetooth and will connect with the Cardo Freecom 2x helmet communicator which I've also bought.

The Freecom is incoming from the UK.

And finally, a Logitech C920S webcam since my old C170's mic no longer works.

Fortunately I have friends who travel to the US and UK regularly because Amazon and others won't deliver to Argentina.

Got the LG OLED C2 55 inches last week. Initially planned on getting the 48 inches one, but couldn't resist the pinch to get the higher sized one after looking at one on the store.
This TV is just beautiful.

Intel ARC 750 ref card ordered up today. My GTX1660s in my editing rig died today, so I needed something cheap to replace it. That and it has some pretty good video sauce in it. Puget reviews show it being considerably faster than with a 4060/3060ti overall in Premiere. I kinda cant wait for it to get here, lol.

Water cooling pc components are made for the niche group of pc builders, I don’t know the % of the worlds pc using water cooling but I think it’s in the 0.01% total
Sure it's a niche but €25 for just 1 piece of 2 is a bit insane.

Found a spare A4-H20 on Craigslist for $40. Not sure if I'll just keep it for a future build, spare panels in case my others get scratched, or what. Just the riser is worth what I paid, so happy enough here.

Maybe it could be turned in to a NAS/local server? Get the cheapest ITX board, chip with an iGPU, and SFX PSU I can find, fill it with NVMe and SATA SSDs.

This is why size matters!
:D

That's how it starts... I had a 48" 4K IPS TV as a monitor, then got a 55" OLED... Then a 65". Now I'm saving up for a 77", but that'll probably be another year or two.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57"

I had been waiting for this monitor for a bit , for my main PC gaming , racing sims , it has worked out well. I know of the Nvidia 4090 issue with 240hz but that has not been a big deal. Hopefully that is something that will be addressed. There are many "unboxing" vids and reviews so I will leave all of that be. This thing is a beast and I am impressed. The 3090 and 49" G9 @ 5120 x 1440 yielded average 170 fps in Project Cars 2 with everything maxed , the 4090 and 57" Neo G9 @ 7680 x 2160 yields about the same average 170 fps...impressive. I gained vertical screen space with this size and it made a big difference .

I love my linears Huntsman Elite V1. Hope you enjoy yours.
it's great! far better than anything i had from logicrap. (first time razer since one spare keyboard and a diamondback from 2006.)
typing with the foam dampening is satisfying as hell :D

Picked up some last minute bits and pieces for the SN770.

One of the few things I hated about this Z-370 board is the storage configurations with regards to PCI-E storage and how it will disable sata ports or run M.2 slots at half speed. My expectations are fairly low with the sata controller so we'll see what happens when it gets here.

I don't say that about my former Logi G810 (which is still with me as a spare). While it worked it was damn awesome, those Romer-G are divine. But when chattering started... Well, that made me go optical.

Is a Medion, with a MS-xxxx board. Not the best. But cant complain for free

It's a Medion Akoya with the MSI MS-7848 ver 1.0
I5-4440 and MSI 635 GT 1GB (MS 292)

The only thing it needs is the i7-4790, 8GB RAM, and a SSD. Currently installed a temporary SATA HDD and Windows 7.
And maybe a NVidia 980Ti

Storage wars PART 2 begins. I'll probably sort everything out later on in the week as this. requires dismantling part of ye' old machine.

2x 3,5 inch floppy storage boxes (€1,50 & €2,50)
1x 5,25 inch ( how you call it?) to connect up to 4 harddrives in 4 bays. (€4) Im thinking about building my own NAS with it. And put this in my old Corsair Carbide 500R. Otherwise this case will be scrap soon.

I bought a 50" 1080P 3D plasma about 11 or maybe 12 years ago... It's still going and I've yet to upgrade it  I feel I'm weak with my TV upgrades, not even mentioning the HiFi but that's coming up 22 years old and still sounding as great as I bought it the first day... Goes to show I think, buy right first time, lasts much longer!!

I don't believe you'll have any issues with them, I have the 6 port card in my little back up server... works a charm and was actually faster than the 8 or 10 port card as I did buy them to test and find out which was better....
I've bought some PCIe NVME adaptors recently, had a 1x model and then released the 4x version was 10p extra so I ordered some of those as well to test and I'm thankful to say, it actually works in my use case, which leads me on to a few 2023 purchases as again, I have been slacking trying to save money... But its not really worked even without buying the amount of PC Hardware I seem to be acustom to...

Still, new post coming up!! :)

wooting is still better, and it only took three dudes from the Netherlands to make it. capitalism is weak as fuck when three guys can out do the entire industry, lmao

Calder is actually very open with what they're doing and wants other companies to "copy" their features to give people better keyboards.
He lives in Taiwan since a few years ago, somewhere on the east coast of the island.

yeah but if you watch the video, Razer couldn't even copy them right, it performs worse than a Wooting in latency.

Right, here we go for a few purchases from earlier in the year... I apologise in advance everyone, I'd added a lot of pics and the Mrs's said big when it came to the pics so these are all full images!! I'll blame it on her.....
First up, some more LPs.....

And a Maribel doll from Sophia it seems!! :D
Now I thought these seemed rather fitting as there was a great thread about optical drives.... So, here we have a few films....

I had a few come over from my mate in the US... It seems over in the UK, you can't get some of the films in 4k, so import we go!! Since 4k's are unlocked compared to the blu ray's that are locked to a few regions, I figured what the heck :D

Now for some of the hardware....
I couldn't resist... I've been looking for one of these for a while but sadly I had to return it :(

I'm sure it would have doubled up as a jump starter for the car as well.... Such a shame :( Cables missing and some not in good condition, so it went back :(

Next up was a folding PC upgrade... After having a dual core CPU in there with no HT......

20230601_192412.jpg

Now I have 4 cores which sounds nothing now compared to what's out there but its definitely made a big difference for this setup :) Up until I took it apart because of what turned up in a care package from my mate in the US.....

Well the Z390 not so much, but the two RTX 3080's went straight into my crunching PCs which have been working very nicely :D :D (More on that later, probably for another thread....)
A few 8TB drives for one of my Dell R730's :)

20230602_205846.jpg

And one of the members here mentioned that these coolers where amazing, so, I grabbed one.......
EDIT - @freeagent !!!!

Of each colour I think  Very happy with the performance compared to the X63 Kraken that was on one of them :) More on that with another upgrade in the My PC thread (I think its named that!!)

Oh and some NVME drives that where too cheap to miss out on!! :) More on those later..... As I ran out of images I could attach to this post, so new post!! :D
