Interest in Foldathons?

Over at HWExtreme we had a 48 hour foldathon every month to have a little friendly competition and maybe to drum up some new participants. Some of those guys have moved over to fold for TPU. We are wondering if there is any interest from the folding community for the foldathons to be held here since HWExtreme is shutting down soon. Participation is not mandatory. What do you guys think?

I get it its not a cheap thing to keep doing, but whatever we can try and do, I hope that we push it out as much as we can... I mean the give aways and such that are coming up, I hope will interest more but if your not in it to win it.... Your just missing out and that's a real bloody shame in my eyes.

I've participated in the last two years over at HW and I am down doing it here. If we can somehow get some prices for participants similar to what they did over at HW, we should be able to get some interest. But what I do miss the most is the Chimp Challenge which was "the" foldathon right cap @BUCK NASTY

I've really enjoyed participating in the monthly foldathons over at ExtremeHW. I decided to follow a couple other members over to HardOCP to be my regular team for folding. However, if y'all start doing foldathons over here I'll pop over to fold occasionally.

I would certainly participate in whatever you guys put together. I have some hardware folding 24/7 now but I tuned it for power saving. For a foldathon I would certainly unlock things.

I have a 4090 I fold on when I am not gaming. So typically my average PPD is between 25 and 35-ish mil.
Right now though I am lucky enough to have access to a rig with a bunch of 4090s in it. It's a rig for AI stuff, but my buddy isn't using it for anything yet so I spun up F@H on it. My intention was to be able to use it for EHW's last foldathon, but it wasn't available.

I can guess that electric costs are fair from a worry for you with the 4090's whirring away in the background?? How many are you currently folding on?

What sort of PSU do you have powering the cards??

A week long folding competition is taking place at the end of the January between a few teams. If you guys are interested in joining, you should post in the thread over at HardOCP. Last year, there was an open invite for any team that wanted to participate... Not sure about this year.

I do not have pics of it but I can ask. I was somewhat wrong, he does medical imaging with it and I guess some sort of AI to assist with looking over medical images?

I am back to folding on just my rig since he has work to do. He doesn't typically have much available time for me to fold on it, but I might be able to get it into some foldathons since I should know in advance when they are.
