What are you playing?

It's luck based. Sure you can do odds and shit but ultimately if you get shit cards in the shop you will not finish the run. Doing the purple stake and it's starting to feel like a grind.
Sure, there's rng, but there are tactics to maximise your chances. It takes time but you'll start developing new approaches. It's very well done IMO and a lovely game to dip into on a daily basis for short sessions but don't overdo it because yes, it will feel like a grind.

Completed Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Fantastic game, perfect sequel to TR2013.

Toned down the violence and combat encounters a bit, upped the hunting and challenge tombs, basically the TR2013 formula perfected.

Way fewer quick time events.

I had a great time with the main story and the Baba Yaga DLC. I'll give some of the other DLCs a shot and move on from there.

I hope the next Tomb Raider game, if it ever sees the light of day, goes back to its roots where raiding actual tombs is the core of the game instead of being optional side quests.

Indiana Jones, the linear, tomb rider-like part of the game was epic.

Just finished LEGO Lord of the Rings (PC)
Finished back then on PS3, and redone it.
Took me about 11 hours to finish the story, a little less of 30% completion.
If your aiming for the 100 %, you're going for a while.
There is a lot of stuff to do, to search, levels must be redone with the good characters, with the good powers...
But it's a good familly game, easy, lot of LEGO humour, can be played in Co-op, it well worth the money.
Of course you must love the films before starting, or you'll be sick playing it :)
I won't go the 100 % route, as it's too much grinding, I've almost done it on the PS3.
LEGO® The Lord of the Rings™ 16_02_2025 18_48_17.png

The dev's (Traveller's Tales) have done an excellent recreation of the trilogy best scenes !

I really like the mix between "real" structures ans LEGO parts :). The world is "open" between levels with a lots of quest to do.

The end is near, continue to fight ! As you can see, the gamehas aged very well, no ?

Plugged my lappy into my 4k OLED tv and i ran fallout 4 with settings to medium... no lag at all super smooth.... and game looks great
Even though fallout 4 is close to 10 years old now wasteland never looked so good at 4k...

@W1zzard omg, when was this feature added? I just noticed it, lmao it helps so much

I wanted to see what game they were talking about, and I was like man I hate scrolling up, lets see what this arrow does, and yep... wow. I genuinely want to know when this feature was added. if it was ten years ago and I just now noticed it, please delete my account, ffs. lmao

There is one lesson with computers. When in doubt, just click it and see what happens! Its the recipe to world domination

Been replaying Dungeon Keeper 2 again, one of my favorite Bullfrog games.

Also been thinking about a Crysis 1 playthrough, as i've never played it.
Cloak Engaged.

Repeat ad nauseam.
Maximum speed. (Sprint at wall)
Maximum strength. (Jump over wall)
Cloak engaged. (Clear wall and land on the other side in stealth)
Grab NPC for silent take down, use as a shield, or throw them as a projectile.

The sequels really haven't lived up to the mechanics of the first.

The sequels' problem is that they weren't open-world. The Nanosuit's primary strength is not stealth/strength/etc. but combining those aspects to enable tactical manoeuvres that an enemy cannot anticipate and thus cannot protect against; the sequels' on-rails set-piece battles killed that possibility entirely.

Haven't played enough of the sequels. On the remastered, though, I have the impression they nerfed the enemy choppers.
I remember them making rain lead down on me even cloaked, now I didn't even got shot by them a single bullet.

I have Far Cry 6 on Ubi and I too thought it was a bit lame. It looks great, but never really hooked me.
I take that back! It's actually a lot of fun, maybe because I haven't played it in a couple of years. That often happens.
The croc is very handy.

Yeah, i been told to not bother, the campaign is really really bad.

Don't get me wrong. Using cloak all the time is just the way I play, I'm that much of a sneaky bitch if I have the option. And it works amazingly, provided you remember to deactivate cloak before taking your shot.

The story is simple as heck, until a turning point from which then there's roughly no story.

Back when developers spent their efforts on making the gameplay fun enough that players would write their own stories.

I played Avowed from Friday to Sunday. It is a blast

The original Crysis also had fun replayability in that you could edit your suit pretty easily and boost the stats over the moon for some wild times. It was entertaining to experiment with absurd running speed or strength enough to clear massive gaps.

Tbh as long as you don't expect anything special from that game then its just a simple fun game to play in shorter bursts.
That way I've actually finished it+ the stranger things dlc on Gamepass and it was a fun and at times rather stupid experience but personally I don't take the FC games in any serious way anyway
I think my biggest issue with FC 6 was that it just felt empty even tho it has a big world. 'FC 3 and Blood Dragon is still my fav, FC 4 was alright tho it was already nothing new really and the ending kind of pissed me off..'
Primal while not exactly popular I think it was at least a bit different thanks to the time setting/theme of the game and that game also gave me a fair number of laughs.
5 I've only used as a benchmark tool when I was tinkering with my undervolts 'idk if that game was stable then everything else was' and New Dawn I've never tried.

1 I've only played the demo when I was younger and 2 I simply did not like in general.

The jungle is very punishing for the gpu with path tracing, but no friggin way I'm turning it off.

I would upgrade my GPU to whatever was needed if someone madea new good Jedi Knight.
