Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT Nitro+

Best buy had bots steal em all and there's nothing in store (best buy doesn't carry anything in store for many years here, dying company, only TVs).
I talked to an employee at my local Best buy just a couple hours ago and they said expect graphics cards in store in about 2 months...

We can just skip this whole generation. Nothing really interesting anyway, unless you can fork out $3000 that is.
Sadly that's what I did last generation, my 1080 TI is starting to really struggle with games. It does help when I switch my monitor to 1440p mode instead of 5120 x 1440. 35fps high setting in Stalker 2 is not that enjoyable.

One observation...

The 3x 8-pin cards come with a 340 W TDP, right? That's 12% higher than standard. But the highest clock speed I've seen on these cards is 3060 MHz, which is only 3% higher than standard. So what's the point?

gpu's get less efficient when you make them run faster
that's probably why

Highest is 3100 as far as I know. And it gives room for overclocking more I assume.

Elaborate
Vega GPUs had a launch price and then they raised the price to the “real“ price shortly afterwards, after all the reviews were out.

i have no idea how to make the tweet show.

Ahh, same thing Nvidia has been doing. They are both guilty of the same crap right now. I was saying this yesterday but people were blasting me for what was obvious as to what was happening. AMD didn't save the GPU market... the only thing these two companies will do is bring an end to computer gaming. We'll see a rise in console gaming. I've been gaming over 40 years and this is the worst sh!t show ever.

Not even close to what Nvidia is doing, AMD built up stock over several months and actually sold out cards at MSRP.
It isn't the same as Nvidia doing a paper launch with very few cards or none being at the claimed MSRP. However what retailers need to do is take measures against bots grabbing up every card to scalp them for 2X more. The bots and scalpers are the ones ruining the market.

No, Nvidia cards are falling to supply and demand.

AMD literally raised MSRP after the reviews were out.

PC gaming has been a sh*tshow since at least the RTX 30 series, prices and launch availability hasn't meant anything ever since, yet people still keep lining up on launch day or opening their wallet to pay retailers being the scalpers themselves. Add to this many AAA games being overpriced garbage only optimized for $2000 Nvidia GPU's, it just isn't sustainable since a console has been a better value for the past 10 years.

This isn't actually what they did. AMD really just made retailers sit on loads of GPUs since January so they could see how both of the 5070s would perform relative to their price and price their cards accordingly. It's why they waited until the very very VERY last second to actually announce their prices.

AMD is NOT the good guy here. Don't believe for a second that any of these big companies got your back.

Except for Intel YEAH WOOO I LOVE YOU INTEL THANK YOU FOR THE GPUS YEAH

But but, you will have nothing, and be happy.

Have some GeForce NOW!

I'd rather retailers sit on stock for 2-3 months than being forced to paper launch and have maybe 50 cards to sell.
Compared to Nvidia and how badly the 50 series launch has been, AMD does look like the good guy. Waiting for more sufficient stock and more appropriate pricing is a good thing, but if the naysayers can't see how the 9070XT launch is how a launch should go then I guess people would find anything to dump on AMD.

"Compared to." Yeah, that's the problem. NVIDIA is trash so AMD gets a pass. Not a fan of that sort of thinking. In fact, I think AMD should be under higher scrutiny when it plays games with their customers like this, because they literally can't afford to do that.

No, it's not AMD, and it's not Nvidia. It's the new tariffs, AIBs, and shops hiking the price. No need for tinfoil hats, guys.

The only difference is that even the MSRP on Nvidia's new cards is bad, a price hike due to external factors only makes it worse.

You lucky kids and your low price 9070 XT's!

Mean while here in Australia the cheapest starts at.......$1139

€860 for Pulse, €930 for Nitro+ in Poland, that's with 23% VAT. Side note, all prices from yesterday went up by at least €25 today, even on out of stock cards.

Won't it just be cheaper to import it yourself?

Any news when to expect other RDNA4 cards' reviews?
