  • The forums have been upgraded with support for dark mode. By default it will follow the setting on your system/browser. You may override it by scrolling to the end of the page and clicking the gears icon.

Youtube, Discord, Visual Studio Code are flickering with black checkered squares/vertical lines. Partial solutions to this issue.

No I see it in black/dark area "checkered squares"

This issue had nothing to do with "Dark area's", it was a tertiary data race condition causing DirectComposition to output garbage because the original data had been deleted before the compositor had finished using them,

What you're seeing is a lack of information in the black area's, probably a result of either color crush by using Digital Vibrance or some flaw with the displays handling of DSC.

Chromium OpenGL does not use DirectComposition, it uses legacy blitting.

I restored to default I got several crash from chrome after using opengl

After several trials I found this occur in HDR mode only not SDR. Is there a possible fix for that ?

My Sony smart tv also has it, so this can't be windows only' issue
I play video with usb stick or bultin- youtube player. But this is definitely related to refresh rate.

Just wanted to point out something after I saw this.
That checker pattern looks somewhat like tile based rasterizing pattern NV uses since Maxwell 1.0 :

It should NOT be visible under any circumstances though, so I'm not sure why you can see it (or if it's actually that).

I have 4090RTX I disabled RTX Video and Super RTX. but MPO still not enabled, stay 1
How do I enable it? Registry is Enabled not exist as disabled.
I don't have dual view,
using 10bit I tried 8bit

I think I've found the solution.
Since I've tried this method for 3 times in a row, I'm pretty sure the source of the problem.
I unplug the GPU and clean the contacts with an eraser rubber until the contacts become shiny again. After carefully seated there is no way not to work beautifully.
Of course it is impossible to address every sort of problem but, checkherboard like sypmtoms on idle are very very similar to those of digital signal distortion.

Please try by yourself.

MPOs are unavailable because you are using 10 bpc SDR. Use 8 bpc instead, or turn HDR on.

it was the Samsung S90C TV, I needed to change something in the Service Menu with Game Mode and MPO now works perfectly, it was because DSC, which I disabled with the changing

so it works now 10bit HDR 4K 144Hz VRR/GSYNC
