Dough Spectrum Black 32

It's important to note that one can probably see and tell the difference but one might not care about it. I've listened to €100k audio setups and sure it's nice but I enjoy a €100 JBL bluetooth speaker as well. I can watch OLED TVs and think "yeah that looks good" but I will enjoy the movies just as much as on a 20 year old HD Ready! Sony or something. I have my 4K VA monitor next to the 1080p TN panel at home and I can tell the difference but I genuinely don't care about it, to the point I'm not even aware there is a difference At work I have a decent 24" IPS monitor next to an ancient 27" TN budget monitor and it's the same there.
Fair enough. I mean, proper HDR is something I am 95% sure you will enjoy. But if you don't watch a lot of HDR content, a more traditional LCD will do.

The reason OLED pop-up in showrooms is that most of the times, TVs are set to ridiculous saturation so they will be as eye-catching as possible. OLED happens to have a wider gamut and in those circumstances will show detail where LCD will crush it.

How’s it holding up to reflections? Is it just glossy glass or do they use micro-etching AG as Apple
Did in the Studio Display? How usable it’s in a well lit room?
Pretty much glossy glass with no visible coating. Very much like a LG C4 but in 32”.

Performance-wise, similar to the 32GS95UE, which makes sense as they are the same panel, but color/image-quality wise this Spectrum Black is superior as long as you have the Gorilla Glass version. But features-wise the LG is better with regards to the responsive OSD, fast panel transition times (e.g. switching between inputs, resolutions, etc) and the built-in speakers.

Never heard of this brand.
Zero availability in DE.

$1k for no-USB hub version is... rich.

what's the point of OLED, my IPS has blacks black enouhg
Lolwhat...

ok, that's why I am ordering OLED now and will prove it with my eyes tomorrow.
…how would that work anyway, are you going to mail everyone interested your eyeballs so that they can check for themselves or…?

This scam company has hundreds of my dollars and I have no monitor. I'll never get a monitor.

Take this review down or give them the publicity they deserve.... Which is that the have literally stolen thousands of dollars from people with nothing delivered, and they have been doing it for years.

Old Displayport Connections, OLED and external power supply unit but new HDMI Connections. No thanks. DP 2.1a claims to improve cable length and signal integrity.

It's seems to be impossible to integrate the power supply unit in a monitor.

Not true! My old Gigabyte Aorus CV27F monitor has the power supply built into the back of the monitor (inside the chassis of course) so you only have to plug in the power cord. There's no power brick to be found. I've become so used to it that it was a little jarring to see the huge power brick that came with my Asus PG32UCDM, lol.

Oh that asus 280w monster? I have that monitor too :)

No availability on this side of the Earth, and not in the form factor I would have desired, but still very interested in how the Gorilla Glass version would fare against other OLED monitors.
Urgh. Well then.

As for other OLED talking points...
same, I own m27u, blacks are perfectly black for my eyes, I just crank gamma 1 stop below default. I put my iphone with oled side by side and there is no difference at all.
Black level: Not sure about M28U, but M27U is ... not good at black stuff, even when compared to other budget 24" 1080p144Hz IPS panels side-by-side, bright room or not. I was very very annoyed about that. No comparisons no damage, as this side of the Earth says.
And yes, I have compared it to my daily iPhone 13 mini, which is OLED iirc. Your experience and mine doesn't line up at all, but it is what it is.
I use a "completely black background with things on it" style desktop wallpaper, so that might explain some of my annoyance though.
Newer VA/IPS should be better and I would be much less annoyed, but OLED should be even better than that.
Gotta try how it performs with dropped Gamma as the quote mentioned, but I don't think it helps anything at all.

Displayport: 1.4 w/ DSC is fine at a cheaper price point, but it should either go for USD$850~950 for DP1.4 or USD$1100 to go for DP2.1.

Fringing: It shouldn't be that noticable unless someone is trying hard at closer than normal distance. This one is 4K at 32" after all, but YMMV.

Power brick: Isn't this a 32", and WOLED is more power-efficient than QDOLED? If a power brick can be stuffed into a 27" QDOLED, then sure this shouldn't be that hard right?
Downside of putting the power brick into the monitor is that it will be more of a space heater, but still...

monitor here works 16 hr/day, so OLED for me will last 2-3 year tops.
About the same here and my LG B9 took 5+ years to even show a hint of burn in. YMMV of course.

How does that follow? Unless you're in the habit of siting your power bricks outside, and running the cords in through an open window.

That's the one, lol. I've taken to calling it Big Bertha  But in this case, I'm glad Asus didn't put that thing inside the monitor, as the damn thing is built like a tank already.

And the Asus PG27AQDM I ordered has a brick too, but it's not a chonker like the other one. Imma call it Baby Bertha :D:laugh:

I probably have put that in a wrong way. I feel the heat is ...erm...more concentrated on my desk....but this could be that the thing is just throwing more heat than before...anyway.
