5070 Ti MSI Vanguard SOC or Gigabyte Aorus Master

I want to get the best 5070 Ti as they are still €1250-1300 and 5080 go for €1800.
And looking at Techpowerup reviews they should OC by 12% which is 5080 level.

But what I need is highest power limit, around 350W. Vanguard has 300-350W. How much does Aorus have?

As for the cooling, both should be equal. Vanguard is 1940 g, Aorus Master also around 2000 g.

Look them up in the Bios repository to see power limits.

There is none for Aorus Master. One would expect it to have 350W.

Also what's up with only minus 17% which is 250W. It is still fine for me, but RTX 20, 30 and 40 could go down to 150W, I think 30% was lowest.

I don't see an exact power limit posted anywhere (I have limited internet access at the moment, someone should be able to get you a better response with actual help) but I'd imagine they're pretty similar, going off of their specs. Just a guess at best though honestly. :banghead:

As far for lowest PL I see it is different from card to card. My 4090 Gigabyte Gaming OC could go down go -98%.
But as far as I see for 5070 Ti, they all have -17%. So similar to AMD, -10/+15%.

Maybe lowering voltage gives lower power than 250W.

Overclocking potential depends on chip quality and shouldn't be taken for granted just because of a review. I wouldn't pay that much over MSRP for a 5070 Ti—that's crazy.
Prices will almost certainly come down eventually.

One more question would be if Aorus Master, Strix/Astral and Suprim/Vanguard are binned better?

I had 3070 Gaming OC and Aorus Master and Master gave me all Legendary in 3DMarks.

€200 difference doesn't mean much when you are already at €1100. And they will for sure never be €900. So far it seems MSRP is €1050-1100 as retailers are selling them for that much when they get those 10 or so cards.

Looks like the adjustment range is minimal for this new batch of Nvidia cards, they are flying close to the sun, just as Intel did with their CPUs being close to the limit.

Funny how back in March people were saying the 5070 Ti would be limited to 300–350W... Well, here I am today with the AORUS Master running on a 400W BIOS. Greetings from the future!:p

It's bothersome if you want to go lower than 250W. You need to cap the voltage, but then power is dependent also on GPU temperature which is affected by GPU and case fans rpms.
Undervolting is better than power limiting anyway for the reason GPU pulls less voltage alone. And some games are less demanding than others. On power limit power graph is completely flat across all games.

But I was trying to test temperatures on 240W and 180W to compare to other GPUs and like I said it is not as easy.

Still, the 5070 Ti is one heck of a card and 250-350W power adjustment is more than enough for normal use of the card.

When looking at the other cards it might seem there is a correlation between maximum power limit and maximum achieved clock. But then you look at the Ventus and...
Also look at the comments about the power limit.

Then I must've dreamt getting my Palit Gamerock for 920€.

Anyway that PNY Epic-X seems great, especially considering the cooler performance relative to the weight.
Personally I wouldn't go for the top tier models, unless by some miracle the price difference is small, I would however avoid the low tier models, the ones with SFF/2 slot coolers and all that, those would surely have higher temps and be louder.
But from the two you asked about, I would get the Vanguard.

Does your Gamerock make this annoying fan motor noise too?

@Knight47

I don't know, the build is not assembled yet as I'm still waiting for some parts.
