Dark Mode - Feedback please

FWIW I am on mobile safari and even in dark mode it doesn’t change at all.

It does not. Perfectly fine by me.

better id trade the gray for black because OLED reasons but I guess its a good middle ground

Better now?

Yeah looks better now and also helps distinguish pages and notifications which before were bleeding together.

Not bad. a bit too much contrast for my taste, but I'm sure it's just my thing.

might be a good idea to make that text white.

Sure, but only the selected one, right? And make the non-selected one the same as selected is now, so it's more readable?

Also I'd like to add: in the Android app, the navigation bar in the bottom (where the "home", "back" and "tasks" buttons are) is still white, even tho the phone is using the dark mode.

Finally! Thank the good lord W1zzard!

Interesting color scheme, light blue/darker blue/golden yellows but much easier on the eyes than the light mode.

Good call avoiding reds, was worried there was going to be reds everywhere thanks to TPU's logo color.

Agreed with bringing the scheme over to the main page as well.

Just curious, why the change of heart? I remember you were a bit standoffish on this subject a year or two ago..

I don't think it's just you it looks a little bit off. The text ends up looking slightly more dim than it should ideally with the background color that should either be maybe a little darker or hint of blue paired with it. The text colors could probably stand a subtle lift too on each just enough to help it pop better. I think the color scheme is overall fine it looks a lot in line with Steam and not a bad thing.

I think these small refinements would tie things together a little nicer the outline color in that region applied to the other area's would pop nicely I believe. The background color would also be nicer for the pinned sections than current more brown color. You might even have that carry over in the forum posts to highlight the staff members with that same outline color, but that's up for debate. :p

Am I the only one who actually prefers the default theme and finds it easier on the eyes?

I love dark themes and use them across various environments but only when everything is consistently dark. That means no glaring white product (etc) images or clashing colourful buttons, icons, text or any UI element. I find that sort of thing a bit distracting. The default theme feels smoother and more cohesive - I’m a big fan of it.

As for this dark mode revamp, regardless of the above, I’m totally on board. Every website on the planet should offer the option.

IMHO, the background color could still be a darker shade still, same for the text input boxes, and the text needs to be a little brighter. It looks a bit washed up on an OLED screen, doesn't need to be 000000 but this shade of grey is still kind of bright and reminds me of IPS glow phenomenon somehow. :fear:

Between both, I'd personally still pick Dark Reader, looks a lot easier on the eyes IMO.

I like that you can easily change it up down bottom that's nice to swap it around. Eventually another style for both light and dark might be worth looking at. Either way it's a nice change from the blinding white.

Looks promising so far. Should've been an option years ago though. :D

It was said it wasn't possible.

For years, threads and posts alike have searched for the dark power.

I'm finally no longer losing my sight doomscrolling the forums.

I love it, fantastic job W1z.

If you drop brightness to like 70 or 84 it's really crisp on text readability. A lot more comfortable on the eyes. Small adjustment darker on these two colors should help eye comfort something like 1-14 shades darker on those two particular colors would pretty much perfect the look and style for better text clarity. It's also more energy efficient as a bonus consideration.

Not using dark mode personally and XenForo had not support for it. With the newest version it's much easier to implement and a lot of people keep asking for it

Not until the newest XenForo update, at least not in an easy way

I noticed the bold text is a bit funky on the dark theme it's still black and well not so readable. That adjust certainly looks nicer I think. My eyes burn less.
