Hey guys what kind of performance can I expect from doom dark ages on a 3080ti 5950x playing at 3440x1440. I hate using dlss and bugs me having to turn down graphic settings hahha.

At Max settings I'm worried I might get 40-50 fps ?

Anyone playing at that resolution with a similar card. What are u getting ?

Check out Hardware Unboxed Doom The Dark Ages GPU benchmark review, the RTX 3080 is in there, so I suppose you can extrapolate from it what your RTX 3080 Ti might do....

Looking at TPU's own numbers here - https://www.techpowerup.com/review/doom-the-dark-ages-performance-benchmark/5.html

Your card would fall between a 3080 and 3090Ti performance wise, and 3440x1440 is roughly between 1440p and 2160p performance wise.

based on those things, and assuming an equal scene to what TPU uses to test, I'd say 50-60FPS ballpark when maxed out on your setup, assuming your CPU won't hold the card back either.

Trying the game out through Game Pass - so far I enjoy it much more over the last two Doom games (which I thought were piss poor take offs of Painkiller and really bad in terms of gameplay that I enjoy). As for performance, here's what I get running the game with my 5900X and 3080Ti.
  • 2560x144
  • Ultra settings
  • TAA
  • motion blur turned off

For perspective, the following was done on an RTX3050 8GB(effectively a more power efficient RTX2060 6GB).
Your 3080ti should have no issues running this game with some adjustments and tweaks.
Like it or not, that is gaming. Tweak and twiddle or buy a newer card.

A 5950X holding back a 3080ti? That's just not going happen.

This video is for the RTX 3050 8GB. He mentions having a video for the RTX 3050 6GB w/ this game somewhere else on his channel.

The 3050 6GB also does not perform similarly to a 2060 6GB? Even if you meant a 3050 8GB that also isnt particularly true (though its much closer, within 10 to 15%), if you really are trying to imply they are similar cards but just more power efficient.

Yup, you're right. Sorry about that. My point remains the same.

Are we really going to quibble on small details that are not relevant to the perspective being shared?

The point is, this game can be played on a massively lesser card and still look good. A 3080ti should have no issues with it, even at the higher resolution of the OP's display.

I felt the need to correct them. That is no slight against you, and I feel they are relevant if your trying to use it as part of your opinion; does not mean I don't agree with your conclusion

Never disagreed, but OP can probably reasonably drop settings at little loss to visual fidelity, as many reviewers have pointed out.

240P yikes. 40FPS at 360P o.O.

At least OP won't have to drop it that low lol.

played though it on my 3070ti on ultra-nightmare gotta pretty consistent 70+fps save for one outdoors level where I had to drop to medium water/reflections
IDTECH8 truly demonstrates that you CAN use RTGI and not having run like hot bawlsak, yes if you have a older card you still need DLSS. But its butterly smooth even when you are assraping the gpu at 103% load no stutters no hitches excellent work ID because ID did there jobs correctly and the game response / frame latency is so low 60Fps feels like 90
