CD Projekt RED Teases Upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 v2.3 Patch - Could be Substantial DLC Pack

I'll be honest, the people who didn't have fun in CP2077 probably didn't have that much fun in CDPR's previous games. World simulation was never their strength. TW3 looks pretty and the stories are great, but you don't want to look too closely at what the NPCs are doing, and there's no such thing as an evil Geralt who chose to be a criminal. Their games have always been strongly story-driven, with some branches, yes, but still fairly limited in what the main character can be, how they can interact with the world. TW3 was no Skyrim equivalent, and CP2077 is not a GTA-like. But CP2077 got many elements that made CDPR past games enjoyable
Cyberpunk's story is far from being a strong point like The Witcher's. I won't go into too much detail, since narrative impact can be subjective, although I can judge objectively against the large collection of Cyberpunk books that I've already read.. Some of the main side quests, like Songbird’s, are actually better than the main storyline. V starts off as a nobody and, in the end, remains one. It's hard to connect with him.

The setting, graphics, and overarching theme are the game's true strengths, giving it a cinematic quality. But unfortunately, between the bugs, crashes, broken saves, police AI so bad they can’t even drive a car without killing each other, NPCs sinking into the ground, loose plot threads, and a fake sense of choice that barely impacts the story, it ended up far below my expectations. Damn... I find it strange how people just accept these issues as if they’re expected features. So only Rockstar is allowed to get this right? I mean... depending on the angle you shoot, street poles detach and fly off like they’re made of plastic: how is that not obvious negligence?

I don't wanna play this game at below 120 FPS
Oh, don't do that to yourself. With adjusted settings you'll get a solid 65 to 75.
Set your setting like the following with two exceptions:
Turn Anisotropy up to 16 and turn off Improved Facial Lighting Geometry.
CP2077-Settings1.jpg

CP2077-Settings2.jpg

Disable AA using the guide here;
Trust me on this.
That same page has other tweak you might find interesting.
These settings will give you a very good looking game and a very playable frame rate. They were turned for an RTX 2070, so your 6700XT should have zero problems.

Cyberpunk's story is far from being a strong point like The Witcher's.
Not everyone agrees with that opinion. Regardless, it's certainly not a weak point.

I already played at 60 to 75 for a long enough time for me to grow bored of this performance. Games are meant to be fun, 75 FPS is not fun.

It doesn't achieve meaningful (if any) performance boost in CPU bound scenarios like using this insane traffic mod so why? Why would I sacrifice visuals when I'm lacking CPU performance?
To get what, a broken game? No thanks. Not interested. I'm serious, CP77 was hard coded to work with TAA. It doesn't even look remotely okay with it disabled and there's no way to fix it. And... it also disables access to upscaling which is bonkers because I have a 4K screen. CP77, native 4K, 120 FPS. On a 6700 XT. Not possible.

It never ceases to amaze me just how amusing the level and amount of blind vitriol is spewn about. It's like people have nothing better to do than waste their energy and time then to be typing out such a malicious volume of text. And for what, so they can influence people against this game, or even CDPR? :kookoo:
"blind vitriol is spewn about" sounds like serious thing. Let's see...

That's not to say that the game isn't fun anyway - it is. Finished once, halfway through again. But that’s only because the gfx are still the best in town and also the gunplay encounters are entertaining.
[...]
some of the things about this game are so good that they are it's saving grace
Whoa, man, that really is a totally blinded, vitriolic take. You got me bang to rights, choom, guilty as charged.

It's not like CDPR is violating peoples right to privacy or stealing from people in the vein of the likes of microsoft, ubisoft or EA.:shadedshu:
What are you even on about here? The art of extreme strawmanning, huh? :D

Sigh...it really seems you're one of these people who have zealous tendencies and simply cannot allow for the possibility of there being more than two sides. So, either something is super duper extraordinary, or it's an utter abomination. If it's the former, then any critique of the thing, no matter how balanced, is considered "blind vitriol".

I'm afraid that real world doesn't really work this way though. There are shades of grey everywhere, and perhaps to see it you need to try and stop being so terminally online - y'know, log off once in a while, speak to real people, "touch grass", or some such.

By comparison, CP2077 had too many new elements to afford to be that ambitious. The first step should have been: "figure out how to make a fun first-person action RPG in an urban setting".
Once you nail that down, you can work on a refined, bigger-scale, more ambitious version. CDPR main strengths are strong storytelling and world design. They've never really been cutting edge, but they tried to be on a game where they would have to start everything from scratch.
I don't have a problem with cutting them some slack in that regard, because I know that starting a new franchise on this scale, and with key changes from the established one (TW) ain't easy. So, yes, the stroytelling is top notch (aside from the lack of chocie/consequence comparable to the much superior TW), the combat is fairly enterteining, even if contained to small areas, and the gfx is still best in class, 5 years on. Also Braindance was a genuinely exciting new idea, shame it fizzled out so fast, this could be a really good key element of the game.

But I wouldn't say Phantom Liberty really changed anything substantial, it just tweaked some things.

So if they really could present something new and daring in the sequel (or at least not so new but at least well developed and multi layered) - and I’m talking about gameplay systems here - then, yes, the CP2077's failings could be seen as a natural part of evolution. I do remember the mess the 1st Witcher was very well :)

But my money is on that CP2077 2 will be just more of the same, just without the disastrous console launch (PC version was okay, nothing like the hysteria had it).

whats this world becoming to even a patch needs a teasing.... just release the patch and let people find out...

I know this might sound insulting, but good grief man get off that damn high horse. There are a lot of people who would be absolutely delighted to get 75fps.
I have a 4K screen
Not according to your specs. But regardless, beggars can't be choosers. You have limited specs. Play within the limits of those specs. Drop to 1080p, adjust your settings and enjoy the damn game. Then, after your next upgrade cycle, you can play through it again and really appreciate the performance difference.

Sometimes it's not about having what you want but instead wanting and enjoying what you have.

What are you even on about here? The art of extreme strawmanning, huh? :D
Go scrape the bottom of someone else's barrel, you will find no scum to nibble on here.

Sometimes I'm wondering what makes people do stuff like this. This is MY computer, MY time, MY gaming experience. Why should YOU of all people decide how I should shoot it? Like, I'm not telling you what socks to wear innit?

This has never been and should have never been my concern to begin with.

You're missing the point. But hey, you're right, your system, your rules.

in any case i’ll buy it, i need more cp2077, i need more dlc because i am “burned out on cp2077” having played it 3 times fully on all versions except xbox, and steamdeck… and the 500+ hours i have played it.(400 playstation, 130 PC) finished everything including all endings, on the ps4, ps5 and PC. platinum’ed it on all.

Wow I struggle to play past 2hrs of it… and I’ve tried over 3x

I think my 12400F will crumble under such amounts of traffic. Anyway, I'm taking a break from this game so perhaps by the time I come back I'll have a better puter.
If you are using rt / pt yeah, it's heavy on the CPU (was dropping to 50 fps lol). But without RT / PT youll be fine

Who wants to bet it will not have FSR3.1, let alone FSR4?

Great to see them still improving the game though, I'm due for a replay.

Been looking into this. My take is that this is going to be one last hurrah before the shelve development on the title and move on to the next installment. I like it.
They've already moved most of the development team off CP2077 ages ago onto a "Cyberpunk Project" and The Witcher 4. So who really knows why were getting one last patch, or what it will even feature.

Cyberpunk's story is far from being a strong point like The Witcher's. I think I can agree with the whole thing about the main storyline with V but its definitely one those games thats best played by going out of your way to do some of the side quests. It helps with avoiding the whole "V ends as a nobody" thing. I think them making it so V cant be visually detected via his face on cameras (which is implied at the start of the game with the optics you get) really shot them in the foot with making V seem like a genuine part of the world. He's more so a living ghost; going from one place to the next, wrecking house, making a name in the afterlife maybe, but really not many people actually know who V was. Maybe thats the point? I'm not sure. I really hope the next game we get to see the world react more to V's choices and behavior, instead of plot conveinencing it out of the game. The most we see is the prolouge of the game affecting the world after but.. thats about it.

I've never had any problems with major bugs in CP2077 since patch 2.1 and onward. Many people have told me earlier than that they patched most really bad bugs. The game is very well designed from a art and theming standpoint. The world feels alive even on really weak processors (I've personally tested a i5-8400 on it. Ran surprisingly fine, other than sometimes the world not loading correctly and small crowds. But still worked well enough.)

Theres literally no point in engaging with the police at all. They could of made it so there was some unique weapons you could get from the MAXTECH enforcers or something.. because those fights are pretty challenging but you have no reason to go out of your way for it.

What so bad about the story? It's definitely American he/she turns transgender

A player doesn't have to choose that. I didn't. Story was fine.
Yet people will complain anyway about even having the option. Other than some of the more objective criticisms for CP2077, such as some of whats been mentioned in this thread, the whole thing about that is actually surprisingly apparent for negative reviews of CP2077. For some, reason.
Sesame Street Idk GIF

Obviously not gonna get into that sociopolitical stuff but I figured it was worth mentioning
