Where do products go after they are reviewed?

This may seem like a stupid question, but where do products go after they are reviewed? I've seen trivial things like heatsinks, thermal compound, and occasionally RAM and PSU's kept by the reviewers. Does the reviewing company actually buy them? What about much more expensive things like desktop pc's and multiple video cards? I was just just wondering :confused:

Some stuff has to go back.

Some stuff you get to keep. This is how some reviews make a living by selling it after they are done with their review. It is work to do the review, and this is kind of seen as payment in some cases.

Some web sites buy the stuff they review.

The school I work for bought about 250+ Dell Laptops two years ago and every year Dell has sent us a top of the line desktop, printer, and laptop. For keeps. :laugh:

One time we called them and told them we didn't like the printer because it didn't have a LCD display so they sent us another one. Got two $300 printers for free.

+1. I just bought an Antec P180 off of a reviewer for a NICE price. It depends on the reviewer and his agreement with the company.
