E8600 Overclock Record Broken, 6.70 GHz a Reality

Hey guys,

I've overclocked my E8600 to 4GHz with Intel's standard cooling. It's stable obviously, 400x10 @ 1.3v. I can keep overclocking, and notching up the voltage, but when I get up to around the 1.8v mark, isn't that really going to reduce the life of my CPU? Like.. Massively?

That's what I understand anyway... If someone could dispel that rumour, I'll overclock like crazy :P - Thanks guys!

1.8V on air, hell even a basic water loop is very ill advised. Try to keep your CPU below 1.45V for 24/7 usage.

You can go that high usually only on LN2, Dry Ice, or Phase safely. Even then its a risk!

and even under extreme cooling the voltage totally degrades the circuits.

Oh I want denying that much, I was just implying....Dont try this at home kids, we are what you may call 'professional' parts killers"!:p

Seeing as how you're eligible for a custom title, I think you should make that it: Professional part killer.
