I ran a S2 (costco version) for years no issues....... purchased an S8 ULTRA during covid F'n love it ....out put 'DeX' to the 65 in :D. The S8 in the 10' would be great for everyday .......... my 2 cents:lovetpu:

SYSTEM RESTORE works best

Why don't you reset /restore Windows again to get the card to run ...then if it runs...... you can pull a copy of the bios from card... & run some test on the card...

Before resorting to bios flashing, why not try a custom fan profile [2d] in Afterburner or Precision??? can you post a link to the cards bios??

& did you short both chips or just the slave

^^^^ are there not 2 bios chips on a 5970???

You should be able to write to the back bios @ boot.. i think it's the F12
