ATI Catalyst 8.10 Released, Adds Manual Fan Speed Control

No fan control for 3800 series sucks,,but i'll take it for my 4800 cards.

Thats fine for me. I gots a VF900 on mine :p

Notice any improvements while gaming?

I just got them loaded on my lunch hour, still have to check the perf.

I did a comparison between Cat 8.9 vs 8.10 using Crysis: Warhead, using the Train Level. GPU is 790/1000 cpu are the same at 3.9GHz. No configuration files uses (ie: autoexec.cfg).
Resolution: 1920x1200
AA: 0x

This is not an exact replica between 4 runs (2 for each cat) because each run can be a little different (how enemies pop up) from the next. However, I did position the character at the same exact weapon on top of the train. I started all 4 runs from the very beginning of the level. In all Cat 8.10 average roughly 1.5 FPS higher then Cat 8.9. The big dips that are found are a result of auto saves.

has anyone tested anything besides crysis?

any one know if it works on modded bios of 4xxx series cards? im still running 8.7

I believe others had that problem as well. Everyone I saw that did, had flashed to a higher voltage. The problem is, they flashed to a voltage that is out of range for power play. Flash back to stock voltages, and use a pencil mod instead.

Awesome! Mines!

I'll have to give these a try when I get home. The last few Cat releases haven't worked on my system, so hopefully these will. Anything after 8.7 won't install properly.

I tend to agree here - I installed 8.10 last night, and both of my cards with a modded BIOS work perfectly.

Only thing I haven't really changed in BIOS is voltage settings.

I noticed no change.. No extra FPS in Clear Sky.. Well CS is the only game I am playing ATM anyway lol

Best cats out in a while! I've been using them a week now and they are great!:D

Really, i may make a move when the Hotfix Come out,

also i kind of suggested the Manual Fan Control since everyone has been bitching about how the fan doesn't adjust or adjusts too high for their liking.

I wanted to overclock my card, someone said that apparently the AGP 1950s overclock better, but he also said he has a HIS ICEQ Cooler on his Sapphire, I have the Custom Stock cooler, the card is factory overclocked (580/(702 or 1404) runs idle at 39 Degrees, fan speed is not audible. I was wondering if since i cant adjust the fan speed, that would be a determining factor in overclocking?

overclocking does defeat the purpose of powerplay, just like SpeedStep and Cool n Quiet.
