AMD added two new low-power Athlons introduced primarily to gain leverage with the nettop segment Intel has been dominating in. The two models, Athlon 2650e and dual-core Athlon 3250e are derived from the K8 micro-architecture which still holds certain technological advantages over competitive platforms from Intel in that segment.

The Athlon 2650e is comes with a clock-speed of 1.60 GHz, 512KB of cache and a rated TDP of 15W, while the dual-core Athlon 3250e ends up with better power efficincy being clocked at 1.50 GHz, with a TDP of 22W. Both processors use the AM2 socket and support DDR2 memory. They are expected to be priced under $50.

wonder if they would overclock good if used in a normal board

duno, nice price for a dualie tho really, my 4400 was around 60 with 2 year extended newegg warr(oem chip)

now when they get a k10 thats native dual core thats gonna intrest me (the overclocking should be better then quads ;) )

why is one clocked lower but has a TDPof 22?

Dual core. RTFM

If they get through the 2GHz barrier at low power I(I recommended somewhere around 40W) these should be acceptable CPUs for gaming for Laptops in another platform if the other components get upgraded.

can make a good use for those am2 mini itx boards

it looks like they overclock pretty good at low voltage...
