Highest Voltage on a CPU aka Suicide Runs!

So I read someone say they put 2.0V on a chip but I've yet to see that. Whats the highest voltage to a cpu you have seen?

Please post some screen shots or links if you have them.

Highest I've seen was 1.7V with watercooling. I'm sure some Phase change setups have seen higher, I would love some Screenshots or validations.

Nah. bricked it before I could get a screen..... lasted about 35s after login. I do have a 2nd Williamette from the same batch as the one I bricked tho... ;-) Its still alive... never seen over stock volts.

mines stable(i think) @ 1.4750v @ 3.8ghz

but it has seen 1.5750v on my approach to 4ghz :laugh:

my chip isnt going to last long

reason im asking is i dont think mine is totally stable

Ben Clarke said he'd put 2.5v through his old E2140 when he'd bought a new processor, yes he did want to kill the old one, also DaMulta said he'd put 2V into a CPU before.

look up the stock volts for willamettes... those were 180nm cores, they could probably take 1.8 for 24/7 on good cooling...

I'v seen 2.1v before, I haven't ever gone passed 1.7v on my E5200 under phase change.

Is it just me being stupid or is there nothing over 2 volts there except for his PSU's lines and the DDR voltage (how did it think it was 5.09v?). But yeah, that's worse than an i7.

Holy crap I cant believe a chip actually ran off of 2.0V I'm shocked! :eek:

This means that if one was truely serious 1.6-1.7 is not absolutely out of the question for overclocking. Granted addressing the cooling is needed so always keep that in mind.

I want to see 2.0+V! !!! Whos got it?!

The highest I've ever used was 1.6v on a suicide run on my 5200+. I've realistically tried as high as 1.55v trying to reach 3GHz

but then again, I don't have the cash to replace it if I fried it. 1.5 is the most I've used.

Thing about it is Barbaric these e5200 chips NEED 1.4v+ to obtain 3.6Ghz. It's almost like you have to clock them like a 65nm chip. Users r9 & fatguy being the exception

Why doesn't CPU-Z freakin record the voltage in an online dump?! WTF?
