TechPowerUp today released version 0.3.5 of the GPU-Z graphics subsystem information and monitoring utility. GPU-Z provides information on the computer's installed graphics hardware, and provides real-time updates on their parameters such as clock-speeds, temperatures, voltages, and fan-speeds. Version 0.3.5 makes the utility geared up for the newest graphics processors from AMD, its Radeon HD 5800 series, along with improved support for NVIDIA FX5500, 9400 GT, G73, GTS 240, GT 140, FX 1800, GT 120 (Apple), FX 380, FX 350, GTX 295 Single PCB, Quadro CX, FX 5800, FX 4800, FX 3800, GTX 180M, GTX 260M, FX 2700M, G 110M, GT 120M, GT 220M, FX 1700M, G 105M, MCP79MX. GPU-Z can now also detect the embedded GPU on some Intel socket LGA-1156 processors. Support is also added for some of AMD's newest Radeon HD 4700 series GPUs and HD 4650 AGP, M92, M96, M98. A concise list of other notable changes is as follows:
  • Added clock reading for Intel i910, i915, i945, 946
  • Added support for DDR3 detection on G9x
  • Added monitoring support for RV7xx based mobile chips
  • Voltage controller "slaves" are now called "phases"
  • Fixed BIOS parsing on some newer HD 4870 cards
  • Added voltage monitoring support for MSI N275GTX Lightning

Hmph, I'm not so lucky; still picking up my PowerColor 4890 PCS+ subvendor as being "ATI AIB (1787)".:cry:
It's now good with detecting Win7 x64 & whether there's CF under the 64-bit OS.:rockout:
 
1787 is what they put into the bios and it stands for "ATI AIB", it is not only used by powercolor, nothing i can do about that

semi-lobster: which card isnt working? make a new thread in the gpuz forum with a screenshot and i'll add it

EDIT: I'm guessing there's no way to narrow down the "4800 series" down to 4830/50/70/90 either?

wizz, do you have added support for IGP 760G yet?

GPU-Z always make my windows crash (some times, it's just not responding) and display weird language, but if i add HD 3850 it's come back to normal, so i know it's GPU-z problem

I guess Die Size and Transistors are just not available due to the driver?

some newer bios versions had a different version flag set in one structure that confused gpuz, nothing major

because i dont know for sure if G72 M is equal to G72 in those two ..

i'll be testing this out later, got a variety of GPU's around the place to mess with.

My multimeter doesn't agree that HD4890 has 1.2V memory voltage that GPU-Z reports. MVDD and MVDDQ are both 1.5v when measured.

DDR vs non DDR? real MHz and what the marketing people say they run at, is not always the same thing.

(DG, DDR 2 1066Mhz is actually 533MHz real)

I think it's for the memory IO buffers on RV790 die.
Here's a little experiment where I first ran some Furmark at c850MHz/m850MHz for 1500 seconds for the temps to settle, then bumped "MVDDC / ???" with GPUTool from nominal 1.2V to 1.3750V:

"Core temperature \ memory IO" in Rivatuner immediately bumped over 2°C, until I reverted the voltage back to nominal and temps followed. Also, note the slight rise in shader core temp after "MVDD" was bumped.

Other thoughts:
- "Core temperature \ memory IO" must be part of the GPU, and not the GDDR5 chips, as it is always similar to the GPU temps
- HD4890 has 1+1 VT242WF regulators that both independently output 1.5v voltages on different planes which matches GDDR5 spec for VDD & VDDQ
- power savings when downclocking GDDR5 (975 -> 175 = 38W (my own measurement, at wall), eg.) are larger than feasible for the GDDR5 chips, alone, to be consuming at 2D

amd tells me it's VDDCI .. some IO voltage .. kinda useless for ocing :(
 
Does anybody know why GPU-Z still shows a wrong Texture Fillrate if you use a GTX 275? Texture Fillrate can be calculated by: TMUs*GPU-Clock. In case of my GTX 275: 80*720MHz=57,6GTex/s. But GPU-Z shows only 46,1GTex/s:



I think GPU-Z uses 64 TMUs for calculating the Texture Fillrate of the GTX 275. This should be corrected.
