Here's the first sighting of what the reference-design AMD Radeon HD 5770 could really end up looking like. Unlike a previous set of pictures of the engineering sample showing a cooler design that resembles that of the Radeon HD 4770 (AMD reference), and Radeon HD 3870, this accelerator by Gigabyte is retail-grade, as it was pictured at a store, and carries an AIB's branding. The card design in many respects looks like a further shortened version the Radeon HD 5800 series owing to essentially the same cooler design. It retains the black PCB pictured earlier, and the connectivity cluster of two DVI, and one each of DisplayPort and HDMI. This picture follows a recent photo-shoot of the Radeon HD 5750, and its reference design, showing a simpler GPU cooler design which is loosely based on that of the Radeon HD 4770 (AIB popular reference design).

it looks rather short
this is good :)

That card has company branding. That's what it's going to look like, unless Gigabyte comes up with a cheaper design, which it will. So you will end up seeing this card in stores, at least initially.

Looks kewl. Maybe will be my upgrade from 4850. (starts to feel a little short).

99 USD???? just like the other 770 card?

Would be sweet 99USD QUAD 99USD CF MB 99USD Video card x 2

No, rumor has it that it's gonna be at the $150ish mark, and $120ish for the 5750.

Boooo I thought the reason for smaller dies was for cheaper prices! No NV DX11 AMD is taking a big bite of the pie in prices I think!

No shit. What company wouldn't? And did you really expect them to come out at the same price point as the 4770's? What would they have done with all the 4k series overstock?

Found some pretty neat pics of the reference card:

Look at how internally it's the same air-channel as the one on the HD 3870 / HD 4770 (AMD reference), albeit using a shorter HD 5800-like shell.

small hole to vent out the back though.

I may end up with one of these if the 5850's aren't cheap in January..

Why wouldn't they price it higher than the 4770? I mean it's more powerful and it has dx11.

It is it's replacement. The HD 4XXX series will be going EOL eventually.

As usual, they put a "TON" of thermal paste on the gpu.

Does'nt seem to be much cooling for the memory except for some heatsink.

The longer the card, the more POWAH! That's the way it SHOULD be!

I feel like a faggot (excuse my French) 'cause my 4870 arrived today.

You would have been better off with a 4890 really...

I just got a 4870.:), still need to try more games.

Loads better then my old 8600 GTS.

You would have been better off with a 4890 really...

It was under $100 (open box).

I'm not even sure if it works xD, I'll check later when I unbox my Antec TP, current PSU doesn't have enough PCI-E connectors and I won't have the i7 rig fully complete till the end of the week.

Here in italy an important online shop has 5750 and 5770, and it's indicated they are already available :wtf:. Theire prices are 149 and 135 euro vat included (20% in italy )

I dont agree with that at all.. for the extra $$ there is no way a 4890 is worth it.

By the way when is the 5770 supposed to show up?
