I got this card off of ebay. I pay $980 AUD for it, and it came from hong kong, didnt want to pay full price from one here, $1200, Im not paying that no way but I got screwed still, XFX is not in australia or so I heard, but I have finally contacted XFX about the issue online and the douche bag that sold it too me as well on ebay, now Im playing the waiting game again. :mad:

I've already ruled out that this card has a hardware problem, im not gonna ignore it, I've tried too many things that havent even worked, I downloaded that overvolt tool from XFX version 1.2, its suppose to support 64bit Windows 7 and vista, still doesnt work, says that it cannot detect my video card :wtf:

, and 2 mins ago downloaded msi afterburner, I still cant even use the fan settings :banghead:

so yeah, i gots a bad card, gonna try and RMA it.

yeah but you gotta understand that they sell for around $1100 - $1200 in Australia and i got this for $980, so I saved a little bit but managed to get a shitty card. :banghead:

I noticed an improvement in vantage with my 4890's with both the 9.12 WHQL and the 9.12 hotfix, but the hot fix driver set played havoc with my 2nd card. It kept periodically reverting to stock clocks as well as adjusting the fan speed :wtf:

At first I thought it may have been because I installed 9.12 over 9.11 and then installed the hotfix over 9.12, but after cleaning and re-installing the problem was still there :shadedshu

Back to the 9.12 WHQL drivers and the issue goes away.

EDIT:

The hotfix drivers also froze the entire PC when opening Everest Ultimate sensors.

I would trade for both actually but I live in Aus, plus I dont wanna give you or anyone else a dodgey card.

There is no XFX in australia, I have tried multiple times to register support on the XFX site, it does not work, I mean I try to register and nothing happens, just goes back to the same page, tried it with firefox, IE and chrome, atill nothing, I have no other way of contacting them, only by online but it wont let me register and no I havent left anything blank in filling in the registration so Im kinda bummed.

Actually that is why I said I would trade..... Because..... XFX has offices in the USA. (not sure if the main office but still I know you can do returns to it) I would have just RMA'd it. Double life time warranty made out like a bandit

...... But yeah if you can't even register than that is weird. Have you tried calling them maybe to manually register. Explain to them the situation..... they claim to have Customer Service right up there on par with EVGA. Even though I have had a shitty time with them doesn't mean you would.
They don't have an AUS. Office? ..... Wait I didn't notice that you did already buy it off someone. Did they already register it? If so see if you can get in contact with them..... and see if they can get things working for you. Maybe possibly Password and so on.....I'm not sure how the Double Life time warranty works..... But is there a possibility that the original buyer needs to change things?
Well never mind that but have you tried registering with ATI directly. I believe that XFX is an official ATI certified Brand (unlike mine Diamond *sigh* ) But I know that ATI should let you register there. Try it out couldn't hurt.

One other thing.... crap man you bought that card for around $980 bucks. I'm sure you got some people here that you trust......you've been here for awhile. Have them order it for you next time

If not does if cost that much when shipping from the US? Even if you have know one here why couldn't you buy it some place here and have it shipped to you.... that would still have to be cheaper.

I really don't know the answers to those questions.... so sorry if I sound a little stupid on that. I just thought you might be able to save your self some money.....(although if it was possible I'm sure you would have done it already)

So has anyone here been able to get the 9.12's to work correctly in CFX mode with two 4870X2's???????

As I have stated earlier on my rig the CCC looses focus on the slave card (the one the monitor is NOT hooked up to) It will work for about 15 seconds then the fan ramps down and you can no longer see fan speed nor usage nor clocks nor temperature. :shadedshu

no clue about crossfire but the hotfix 9.12 fixed my large mouse problem and my dirt 2 start up issues.

I got a 1000 points extra in Vantage with the new hotfix!! Thats right 1,000.

Now was that compared to the regular 9.12 drivers or just compared to 9.11.

The reason I ask is because I want to know if anyone has got any performance upgrade even going from 9.12 to 9.12 hot fix.

I might just have to do it and tell everyone...... but if it's a bad thing or if there is no point I would like to hear before I do? Maybe I should start a thread on it..... I f I don't hear from anyone I will do it myself and then start a thread.

Only performance increase I saw was Dirt 2. everything else took a hit.

i was getting missing textures/models.. and crashes.
