The beta one was larger with both 32 and 64bit support. This is only for 64bit Win7/Vista.. so it probably is real

I have to hand it to ATI.

I'm reading the release notes as well, and I can tell that they have listened to users on some of these things.

When you see someone mention a problem, and then see it's specifically fixed in the release notes, you know something is getting better.

Well, I'm seeing more frames in Dirt 2 but so far I've noticed to other things also. 1. The cool water effect on the windshield is gone whenever you hit water.. 2. alt+tab locks you on a black screen

These don't seem to be a bad set at all so far, haven't had any crashes outside of general OC testing (finally decided to settle at 1010/1310), so it's all good! Even flashed my vBios to an asus one so i could do away with the annoying amd gpu clock tool (it caused many games to flicker whilst it was on for me, even when not OCing).

I'm very disappointed with these 9.12's. These were supposed to be the perfect drivers for NFS Shift, but the flicker in the headlights, brakelights and trackside lights introduced in 9.11 is still present in these 9.12's. This happens with crossfire, if I disable a card it goes away and the effect is reduced with Vsync enabled, but those are workarounds, not fixes. Cat 9.10 works perfect with Shift, but unfortunately since I've just bought Dirt 2 I can't stick with this driver as Dirt 2 just doesn't run properly with these...

Well the water is perfectly fine on my 5870 and I get a 5~10% boost on my games

I guess you need the hotfix maybe.

Not true. I get an increase just using one of my 5850's. I've read other forums too. There are some people that have no luck with these or any other drivers too! Looks like one or two people in this thread with single cards got a performance increase. Perhaps you should find out on your ATi card what you get?
