NVIDIA today released version 197.13 of its GeForce system software. The suite includes drivers for all NVIDIA GeForce GPUs and IGPs since GeForce 6 series, NVIDIA ION platform, as well as system software for NVIDIA PhysX, NVIDIA 3D Vision technology, and drivers for the on-chip HDMI audio which the latest GeForce GPUs are shipping with. The WHQL-signed driver includes PhysX 9.10.0129 system software, updated HDMI audio driver to version 1.0.9.1, application-specific performance increments for several games, notably the following:
  • Up to 13% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with a single GPU, up to 30% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with SLI technology
  • Up to 13% performance increase in H.A.W.X with single GPU, up to 15% performance increase in H.A.W.X with SLI technology
  • Up to 30% performance increase in Left 4 Dead with single GPU, up to 28% performance increase in Left 4 Dead with SLI technology
SLI profiles are added for the following applications: Assassin Creed II, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Command and Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight, Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, Mass Effect 2, Napoleon: Total War, and Zombie Driver. SLI support is improved for: Metro 2033, Supreme Commander 2, Unigine, and World of Warcraft
- Ambient Occlusion support for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Need for Speed: Shift, Resident Evil 5, RUSE, and Street Fighter IV. Anti Aliasing can now be overridden for Mass Effect 2. As always, a number of new and existing bugs were fixed. For more information, refer to the Release Notes documents for Windows 7/Vista, Windows XP.

nice! i wonder if this driver would let me do the ATI + Nvidia physx patch?

Nice I may try it since I'm gonna do a re run of warhead. I wonder who needs an increase in fps for hawx though, this game flies already at 100 fps+ lol.

slightly OT but I notice that the GTA4 'xbox exclusive' episodes are listed in the games above. I hadn't heard that they were coming to the pc, but I'm glad that they are!

Yeah its gonna come eventually, it was a timed exclusive for the xbox 360 afaik.

As an ATI owner....

I'm slightly envious of the green teams drivers. (apart from that wee hiccup they had)

I used to be green, but now just green with envy...

ATI drivers are mince in comparison - though when they get it right - image quality does seem smoother somehow - wierd.

But to summarise my non flamish post - NV drivers 99% Good.

Anti-Aliasing for Mass Effect 2 !!!

Anyone has any clue whether this driver will work with the CUDA/OpenCL SDK 3.0 Beta for GPGPU purposes ?

did you noticed that every single whql driver release contain the 10-15% increase in Warhead ?
given the time Warhead was released and the number of whqls released, the performance increase in Warhead should be 1000% (yes, a thousand percent increase), which is not thrue, of course, Warhead actually still perform worse then the original Crysis.
what else do they lie to us about?

Up to 13% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with a single GPU, up to 30% performance increase in Crysis: Warhead with SLI technology

What GPU? GeForce 210, how about being a bit more specific Nvidia, ATI give details on what cards have performance gains, NV, well NV just let's you swivel. :wtf:

these dont install right for me, the betas didnt either. My computer locks up mid install and when i restart i come back to a desktop that looks like it has seen a rollback to an old restore point

Yeah now I need it for BFBC2 as well. I'm tired of looking at nice sharp lines on one building then turning my mouse 90 degrees and seeing ugly ass jaggies on another.

No issues here. Presently running 197.15 betas.

I think the improvements are meant to affect all cards that this driver supports.

well i managed to get 197.15's installed and working

Using my 9800gt = 181.21
Using my GT240 = 191.07

I am sticking to my word and only use the drivers that shipped with the cards, they seem to be the best, i always have issues with any other drivers i use. As for ATI, this isn't the problem, but with Nvidia it is.

Thumbs up on these! Both my gtx280 and my 9800gtx are liking them! Very nice fps in games. Lower full load temps.
Edit: lower folding temps too!

this is true if u play games older then ur cards and especially if ur cards r single core. Gamers who play a new game every week need to update, and dual gpu users like myself need the added sli profiles

I played just cause 2 on my GT240 with the 191.07 and the game ran just fine. I know people say older drivers won't worked well with new games, but that is not true.

These are good, been using the 197.13 betas that are probably identical to these, was just missing WHQL. Installed these on top just to make sure I don't miss anything :)

not really saying it wont play, just maybe not as well as it could :toast:

I tried it on my second machine with a 9500 GT
and it doesn't recognize it. I have to restore.
Cheapy card I'm not surprised.

This driver looks promising, I skipped the last 2 due to their bugs. I think I will try it out:)

:wtf:?

30% performance increase?
30% wow.
can someone confirm that lol

Anyone with a GTX 260 based on GT200 B1 having problems? If so please post here so I'll keep my current driver XD.

Anyone running this driver with a GTX 285 1gb in SLI?

Yep. I am. No issues so far.

Running forced X16 AA in Mass Effect 2. Purrrty.

For those that care, OpenCL works with this driver, as well.
