XFX has released the first-ever overclocked versions of the powerful new GeForce 8800-series video cards. The XFX 8800 GeForce XXX Series is the first of its kind to be factory overclocked. Two XXX edition video cards have been released simultaneously. The 8800 GTX XXX Edition, overclocked from the standard 575MHz/1.8GHz to 630MHz core and 2.0 GHz memory clock speeds, and the 8800 GTS XXX Edition dialed up from a standard 500MHz/1.6GHz to 550MHz core/1.8GHz memory clock speeds. Both cards are preflashed with new custom bios, and are 100% tested with 3Dmark06.

wow.............no other words..........

What's the damage on that I wonder.....$700? :D

how can the GDDR3 handle 2ghz  , thought that was stretching the limit and reaching into the GDDR4 realm?

that is for those certain memory modules. there are a handful of x1800/x1900 cards that will do 2ghz. my x1800 does 1.8 no sweat.

Oh great, another overclocked edition designed to take the money of noobs who are too stupid to overclock themselves.

GDDR3 memory at 90nm can get to 2Ghz.

The only thing that is interesting is the custom BIOS.. whats with that?

another future 7900gt artifact card.......

I say not worth it yet... DX10 has not been built, therefore DX10 cannot really be supported, odds are it will work fairly well. But I would honestly wait until DX10 is fully released and the new cards start coming in, it would suck to buy a card for that much and find out if you wait a few weeks you could have a lot more performance for the same price.

I just got my 8800 gtx last week. I'll probably just overclock it myself.

Change that probably to Totally and u have one smart sentence!

hey bet these cards go boom on some unsuspecting person who things his Dell PSU can handle the power drain on these things i mean seriously these things have to draw power like no other :shadedshu

It won't be long before people start the RMA process up again...How soon we forget about 7900 and their overclocking problems  .
But wait, the 8800 is different from the 7900 therefore it won't happen. Oh wait I got another one: That was an isolated incident.

In any case anyone that falls for this again is asking for trouble!

lol. They'll prob. mark up the price on those cards by about $50 or so

Pretty cool and a custom flashed bios to boot. I like this.

I'm sure the "custom" bios, means the clock frequencies are changed to the overclock settings and that's it. Just like in the old days when you could alter your bios and flash to your 9800pro

Basically, yeah. Clock frequencies and the name would have been changed. Possibly also the memory timings could have been loosened to allow for 2ghz on the memory.

what old days?

you can flash your 8800 with new frequencies too...

nibitor and nvflash is all you need.

XFX always liked to produce fancy pre-o/ced cards..it`s no big deal...
all of them can reach these clocks..
