how can the GDDR3 handle 2ghz  , thought that was stretching the limit and reaching into the GDDR4 realm?

that is for those certain memory modules. there are a handful of x1800/x1900 cards that will do 2ghz. my x1800 does 1.8 no sweat.

Oh great, another overclocked edition designed to take the money of noobs who are too stupid to overclock themselves.

GDDR3 memory at 90nm can get to 2Ghz.

The only thing that is interesting is the custom BIOS.. whats with that?

I say not worth it yet... DX10 has not been built, therefore DX10 cannot really be supported, odds are it will work fairly well. But I would honestly wait until DX10 is fully released and the new cards start coming in, it would suck to buy a card for that much and find out if you wait a few weeks you could have a lot more performance for the same price.

It won't be long before people start the RMA process up again...How soon we forget about 7900 and their overclocking problems  .
But wait, the 8800 is different from the 7900 therefore it won't happen. Oh wait I got another one: That was an isolated incident.

In any case anyone that falls for this again is asking for trouble!

I'm sure the "custom" bios, means the clock frequencies are changed to the overclock settings and that's it. Just like in the old days when you could alter your bios and flash to your 9800pro

Basically, yeah. Clock frequencies and the name would have been changed. Possibly also the memory timings could have been loosened to allow for 2ghz on the memory.

you can flash your 8800 with new frequencies too...

nibitor and nvflash is all you need.
