EVGA Also Rolls Out Frostbite Thermal Interface Material

After treating the gaming community to some groovy mousepads, EVGA turned its attention to the overclocking community, with the new Frostbite thermal interface material (TIM). This white, silver-based TIM has a thermal conductivity of 6.5w/m-k, and is said to be less viscous than other silver-based TIMs. EVGA is pitching it for use in bleeding-edge overclocking setups, with sub-zero cooling solutions. EVGA even got renowned overclocker K|ngp|n to endorse it, saying that the Frostbite TIM is easy to apply and holds on longer during extreme bench sessions. Available in 2 g syringes, the EVGA Frostbite TIM is priced at US $9.99.

2g for $10 is pretty steep. I got 12g of AS5 for $15. Sure this is a hell of a lot better, but certainly not a great value.

Wonder if its any good compared to MX-4 because that is one of the top pastes, which i currently have a tube of.

with a thermal conductivity of 6.5W/mK... i have seen thermal pads by Fujipoly that offer a 6.0W/mK thermal conductivity rating...

check out this Fujipoly SARCON XR-Um-AL (TIM) it's a putty type silicone sheet w/ 17.00W/mK thermal conductivity rating!

something tells me, this paste was not made for ordinary users, but rather for those, which do extreme OC... its probably worser than most high end pastes available, when beeing used in a desktop enviroment.

According to that advertising, it wont freeze as fast, which probably is its biggest benefit under LN2
