MSI's engineers struck gold with their Twin Frozr II cooler design, introduced a couple of generations of GPUs ago. Twin Frozr II soon became MSI's workhorse VGA cooler for high-end non-reference design graphics cards, on both the NVIDIA and ATI/AMD lines. It is reported that MSI is now selling this VGA heatsink loose in the Japanese market, so you don't have to buy an new MSI graphics card, and just upgrade your existing one with it.

This variant of Twin Frozr II has GPU retention hole layout that matches that of GF100 and GF110-based single-GPU graphics cards, i.e. GTX 465, GTX 470, GTX 480, GTX 570, and GTX 580. The cooler measures 251.9x100.9x35 mm, weighing 520 g. It consists of a nickel-plated copper base, from which five heat pipes (6 mm thick pipes towards the central portion of the base, 8 mm thick towards periphery) originate, conveying heat to a large aluminum fin stack. This stack is ventilated by two PWM-controlled fans. The Twin Frozr II is priced at ¥5,980 or US $73.

Many Thanks to Maban for the tip.

Sweet! Instant MSI Twin Frozr for your card! even though you have other brand gpu

Now, if they only sold the gold edition in the US for around $70, I would buy three.

gold is tacky... c'mon

rappers wear gold.

Well, what else do you expect them to do with all the leftover TF2s now that 3 is out, I doubt they will make any more when these sell out.

Interesting color. Looks black and red? Doubt it will come with the vrm/ram plate.

Way too expensive. For that price, there are much better options.

Like what? Everything that comes to mind costs just as much, takes up 3 slots, and doesn't cool any better.

Source on the Thermalright Shaman or AC Excellero XTREME not performing any better than this? I find that hard to believe.

Besides, this apparently doesn't even come with the VRM/Memory cooling, which instantly makes everything else a better option.

AXP can be had with mounting kit for about $65 total on sale (which SuperBiiz has all the time). It can also cool by far better than TFII. It's only downside is triple slot. Plus this doesn't come with any other component sinks.

Giev for AMD cards :respect:

$5 less for a 5c dif. but with the 3 slot penalty. I've got to say that's not really jumping out at me as a better option. Especially since it doesn't look as good and the vrm/ram it comes with count as null. You should always cut up the stock vrm/ram sink to fit around the new cooler cause those little grey sinks you get with kits like the AC suck ass so they might as well not even be included. Seriously, you'll get higher vrm temps with that kind of setup so you might as well take a dremel to the stock plate if you're changing out the heatsink anyways.

At last! Now give us a Vapor-X cooler for AMD cards! Pleeease!

Yea yea, I got a thing for the Vapor-X :p

That price is ridiculous! Somebody will be better served putting $73 to the next g-card release.

As usual Japan gets all the awesome stuff.
