it looks decent for a lan rig :D i would never buy a fatal1ty product because it was developed in cooperation with fatal1ty tho LOL just for performance :D

This would be a great upgrade product if it was based on DDR not DDR2 memory. As it is... it's not very exciting. The mainboard has become the cheapest part of a PC system... and there are better specced mainboards out there. (This one has only 1 IDE connector...x700 is ok for office and as HTPC but useless for LAN parties and gaming... FSB limited to 1066 where intel is at 1333 already...)

But I guess it would make a great HTPC console emulator (ATARI, MAME, PS1, PS2, XBOX)... just not the latest generation of consoles... unless the GPU is upgraded.

Not bad really. I mean, he is a 12 time champion, but that doesnt mean he designs and makes things with gamers in mind. Unless he accomplished the feat with minimum hardware.

its has hdmi...looks more towards a gaming HTPC...

Is this the same as the AMD/Ati 690G (AMD 690G with ATI Radeon X1250 graphics) but for C2D? Probably not worth it as it will cost a fortune in comparison to the AM2 boards (probably?)

Does anyone know if HDMI can be upgraded to the latest version (1.3 atm i beleive) with drivers?

I am building a HTPC

Fatal1ty with only ONE PCIe slot?

Its got 3 x PCIe, 1 x16 and 2 x1 slots. It mATX as well so that limits space

It shouldn't have two PCI-E x16 slots, it's designed as a media center board, and is mATX. This isn't a board you use to make a gaming machine, but rather something small to put in your living room for playing music, movies, etc.

I would never buy that.... ever.

If you like it , really the cost of it plus a C2D cpu needs to be compared to an AMD 690G board and am2 cpu (EE) as for htpc I would imagine both are a good htpc , high def (1080p) capable solutions

another GHT board

its just a HTPC nothing special 'cept the price tag im sure honestly get a ECS board for your HTPC they make some damn good MATX mobos that run silent

Yeah, just don't try to overclock with an ECS board. lol

 My knowledge indicates that ECS does not let you OC with their BIOS.

your knowledge is incorrect :D they have worked for as long as i have had my oldest oc'able ECS was the K7S5A-pro it allowed oc'ing as does my P4M800

Shit like this makes me want to run out and put a Mercedes logo on my Chevy. How far are they going to exploit "fatal1ty"?

Lucky. My board won't post past ht 280, and only offers 2.15v vDimm.

same as mine you have to understand that only puts the fsb @700mhz 175*24 is 4200mhz and it only allows 2.15v vdimm aswell

Whoop-de-dooo! More Fatal1ty branded shit!

enough already! (not that i'd complain if companies were falling over themselves to pay me to make Gr1ngs components, crap or not)

I must say i'm a little surprised that you guys can't see a good product thats right in front of your eyes...the Abit I90HD (I won't mention the rest of the name as it seems to incite the green eyed monster..) is an excellent base for a HTPC or a SFF gaming rig. If you're someone who goes lan gaming alot or just doesn't have much room for a full ATX PC you can add the latest and greatest graphics card...SLI isn't a necessity yet.

As for other manufacturer's, no-one else seems to have squeezed out the performance or features Abit have, as for a comparism between AMD & Intel..anyone who buys AMD right now is seriously mis-informed..Dual-Core Intel CPU's can be had for under £100 now. Until AMD ready Socket F, their not worth considering even at a fair price point...which their not. I'm no fan of Fatal1ty but he's made a living from what he does, so he's doing something right. Abit are over-using his branding..what company doesn't ??
