DiRT3 had so much simulation in it that you could adjust the downforce on a A110 (or any 60's/70's car by that matter) and the Cooper S shat as much flames as a quattro. I had to mess with the diff, set downforce to low and gearbox to short, to try and make Gr.B cars react like they should...completely uncontrollable. And they were still very controllable.
At least it wasn't like in CMR2.0 where a Cooper S has 6 gears and the 6r4 behave like a 500hp RWD car.
its not perfect. its the best on in the market. you cant expect the devs to make them totally realistic as im sure none of them have actually driven most of the cars in the first place. they work on input from racers and stuff.
at the same time, they must not make it too difficult for people to play. i am the only one of my friends who can play dirt 3 without assists.
