According to a product page that popped up on Overclockers UK, in about a month HIS (Hightech Information System) will be releasing a custom-cooled graphics card powered by AMD's Hawaii GPU. The card is question is known as the Radeon R9 290X IceQ X2 Turbo and it comes equipped with the IceQ X2 cooler boasting two 89 mm fans as well as two 8 mm and three 6 mm heatpipes.

HIS' upcoming card also has 2816 Stream Processors, a 512-bit memory interface, 4 GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors, dual-DVI, HDMI and DIsplayPort outputs, and it comes bundled with a voucher of EA's Battlefield 4. The Radeon R9 290X IceQ X2 Turbo doesn't seem to have final clocks (they aren't mentioned) but there is a price tag (£499.99) and a shipping estimate (January 24th).

Blue PCB? You can do better than that...

Blue PCB, watered gold shroud. Wow HIS, no wonder nobody buys your cards.

Awfull look :S

I love the IceQ cooler of my 6870 and 4670... this is... disappointing :/

This better have some awesome thermals and acoustics to compensate for the looks...

I'd take Gold/blue much more than the semi-translusent smoke plastic trend... better than make it appear like like those cheap airsoft guns!

Even ignoring the color scheme for now, I wouldn't call that mess of heatpipes "elegant". It better perform really, REALLY well.

Didn't HIS have one of the highest clocked 7970's? I am interested in the final clocks.

they cant combine the gpu color with the pcb.. :(

Wow, blue PCB and a beige cooler? Did they hire an interior designer to pick their colors or something? That color scheme won't go together with any motherboard... And I thought the Asus gold-theme was bad. I like thinking outside the box, but this is just plain ugly.

But, but it has a blue/gold sticker that matches the theme lol :D

edit:
Although black would pcb would be much better, look at this badass XFX DD 290X

quick question, how do those prices convert into US dollars?

Who care's how fast it is I'm buying it for the pretty colors . What we have to color coordinate now . But I am looking for a gold PC case now .

weird. my phone was typing backwards. anyways, lol at the sarcasm above. The iceQ coolers are awesome. It seems that this site is filled with ferries and 9 year old girls. This will be a great option along with those from MSI, sapphire, and others. If you plan on purchasing based on color, keep that shit to yourself.

God all mighty that is one butt ugly card!!!!!

Personally, I would take a 'Butt Ugly' card that performs well, and has a good price over a cheaper, more aesthetic looking with lesser performance. That is yet to be determined but, if this thing rocks, could be the new black.

?

Hey Phil Robertson I like your duck whistles . I like the card , don't mind the colors so I'm definitety buying one on my 10th birthday .

Well from what I saw this cooler is really effective, can't wait for some reviews!

first impression: not impressed
flat shroud like cardboard, blue pcb
duh..
they dont see their competitors give nice looking cards with better features

With how many people rip these things apart to clean out dust, I don't know why they don't make these easily removable. Reference cards are the worst. There's always, like, 50 clips and a few screws holding the outer shroud on. What's worse, the clips look like plastic, but judging by how hard they are to remove, I'm guessing they're actually made of Carbotanium.

Why can't we have an easy to remove shroud that we can spraypaint whatever theme color we want? Two birds, one stone.

Still no custom 290/290x for TPU or Tom's? Santa must have thought these boys were very naughty this year...
