Intel is readying its most powerful NUC (next-unit of computing) compact desktop, codenamed "Skull Canyon." Slated for the first quarter of 2016 (between January and March), this NUC will feature Intel's most powerful implementation of its 9th generation Iris Pro graphics. According to FanlessTech, we're looking at a chip with Core "Skylake" CPU cores, and an iGPU with 72 execution units, and 128 MB eDRAM L4 cache, which makes up the company's Iris Pro 580 solution. It remains to be seen how small Intel can make this thing.

Interested to see if this product ever make it to India market. I have i3 based Nuc that I use for steam streaming to my TV and it's sufficient to get the job done.

ah shaite... I always liked the skull platform logo and theme.

I just wonder how strong this GPU will be. I know it will possibly destroy the one inside the A10-7800K, no doubt. The question is if the drivers and overall performance will be justified.

Probably not...

I still have a DX58SO2 running around with a big skull on it, only UEFI X58 board ever made to my knowledge...

Kinda miss Intel mobo's. Yeah, sometimes they were goofy, but they had moments of brilliance too.

I had the original SO... RIP... (One dork friend of mine killed it while replacing his PSU cables... with corsair ones... that has different pinouts...) before I took the skull logo plate form the south bridge and put on my case a a lucky charm :D

There were other boards with full uefi visual bios the cleanest ive ever seen, there we the 7 & 8 series boards.

I'm still rocking DZ87KLT-75K the last intel
extreme series board, with an i7-4790K

Very nice looking bios. But my point was that that was the only UEFI bios for X58... still I wish Intel was still making UEFI from the looks of that. It beats my gigabyte today!

there were other uefi x58 boards, but not all of them were mouse friendly ;)

i love that intel skull theme ...!

I've never had issues with intel's drivers since ivy bridge. They've done a good job of making them work well.

And considering the current iris 6200 gpu ALREADY beats out the a10, this thing will be a beast.

I'll probably get one for a steam machine. This+linux mint+civ v on the tv screen will be awesome.

Quite handily at that typically doubling the FPS of the 7870K.

I tried to find one and couldn't. I'm curious which ones?

DX58SO2 was not mouse friendly, BTW.

I know the Gigabyte x58 boards had it after an update.

This falls under the category of things I need, but wouldn't know what to do with if I had one.
