It's actually a clever idea, but he shouldn't use that cooper coin or the cooper pipes, as the heat-sink is made from aluminum its going to oxidize sooner or later. And another thing to notice, he says he did the test with running water, so there is always a flow of cold water, it would be nice to test it with a rad, so we can have an estándar. @JalleR but the old socket 775 model the one that was twice as big with cooper core, newer ones are really thin with cooper core.

you made it?
the process could be improved but the idea is great, since the stock cooler have the mounting hardare requiered for making the block properly attachs!
but great work, welcome to TPU,

Yep. Its my yt video. I know about corrosion issues. Its only a idea, not a final solution. Ofc there is a good copper based intel stock cooler so its a good way to avoid corrosion of aluminium.

Anyway, on polish computer forum, some1 said that its no problem to use LGA775 cooler on LGA1150/1155/1156/1151 mounting. If mouting arms will be moded with fill, its no problem to move mounting holes 3mm (72mm lga775 to 75mm lga1150).

Its easy to find LGA775 cooler with copper core.

Rad its not a problem.

This page is similar to ebay. For 8$ you can buy a new car radiator (with is a air heater for cabin) with very good dimensions 275 mm x 158 mm x 42 mm. Its not problem to install it.

I dont use water cooling. I think that air cooling is enough for all computers.

Stock cooler for i5 version K got copper core in heatsink.

The stock cooler with vapor chamber thugh, those were one of better coolers. Those had vapor chamber instead of copper core.

When ya think about it you could do it to a AMD cooler one of the old ones (big aluminium block) and still run the fan as well lol

it truly never occured to me how simple watercooling actually is, until i saw this. You really could ghetto something up in a short amount of time with very little more than adhesive and a drill.

I got a solution to stop corrosion of aluminium. Leave water, leave cooling liquid. USE MINERAL OIL.

:clap::clap::clap::clap: :pimp:

Engine heads are made of aluminium. They dont corrode and they r cooled. So its possible and aluminium corrosion is not a problem.

I think that unless the pipe ends are threaded in, the epoxy glue will break under pressure, and the stress of the hoses weight.

Hm. Epoxy glue is very hard. To take off the coin, i used quite big force with the screwdriver. Epoxy glue that I used is designed for cars and suitable for outdor use (water resistant and it has a corrosion stoping adds)
