I run my system at 1.48 volts (for a 4.7 / 4.8 overclock)

But the 4.7GHZ overclock only kicks in when the CPU is under load.

The rest of the time the energy saving feature is active and you can see from this picture below, the average *actual* v.core is only 1.23v (which is quite sufficient for browsing / music / you-tube / office.

If I do suddenly need a little boost it happens seamlessly with no noticeable difference between *gears*.

So I'd definitely 110% recommend 4.6GHZ at 1.31v.

In fact -- if temps aren't an issue (as you say) I'd aim even higher!

I would never dare to go above 1.35V/1.36V

That's right, temperatures are not an issue but i won't go higher because soon i will upgrade CPU.

0.03V for 100Mhz is very worth it for me.
My 6500 need 1.38V for 4.8Ghz and 1.51V for 5Ghz that is 0.13V different and I choose the latter because temperature is completely fine (45-60C while gaming) and I mainly play strategy games which is typically CPU bottleneck.

2500k did and went to 5.2ghz on 2 cores at the same voltage, but with 4 cores in use only did a max of 5

because the difference in voltage more than the frequency (100 mhz)
i mean in other words
i think less 0.3V is more beneficial on long term than 100 mhz

- less heat
- less noise , maybe it will lower rpm of cpu fan little bit
- less power consumption
etc...

and it depends on your temps .. if you see big difference like 5 or 10 c drop in temps then yeah its worth it

You are missing a zero in order for this to be correct. .3V is a ton of voltage to a CPU...

I have my 6700K@4800Mhz 1.39v . You are quite safe under 1.45v. My temps go max 73c on stability testing but when gaming ~55c.
