An NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti reference-design graphics card was overclocked to 2062 MHz core, and 11404 MHz (GDDR5X-effective) memory, and put through the 3DMark suite. The card was able to sustain its overclock without breaking a sweat, with its core temperature hovering around 63°C. Apparently, the card's power-limit was manually set to 122%, to sustain the overclock. In the standard FireStrike benchmark (1080p), the card churned up graphics scores of 31,135 points, followed by 15,093 points in FireStrike Extreme (1440p), and 7,362 points in the 4K Ultra HD version of the benchmark, FireStrike Ultra. The card also scored 10,825 points in the TimeSpy DirectX 12 benchmark. Overall, the card falls within 30-40% performance of an overclocked GTX 1080.

so basically it all stays the same, the GTX1080ti is on average 35% better, and overclocked...still the same.
Wonder if Nvidia put the same overclocking restriction on this card or if this one is free to clock to the actual card's limit.

Also do I really have to google this or how close is this score to the Titan X Pascal's?

the 1080 ti is only about 1000 points off.
Impressive.
Definitely sealed my purchase.

yeah a lot of companies should not have bought other companies because I know the world would be a better place if they did not...

AMD should have never bought ATI......

That's what you think, because you have a very narrow view at this. But AMD had a much wider perspective when they bought ATI back then. They now have a blend of CPU and GPU capabilities where NVIDIA is stuck with GPU only. And while that works, it's questionable for the future. Not to mention AMD took over entire console ecosystem and with Ryzen, they'll be taking over workstations and servers. Depending on what AMD RX Vega will turn out to be, things will go in their favor as well. And so far it's looking very good despite everything.

AMD haven't got a hope in hell with Vega.

And no, I'm no NVIDIA fanboy. Nothing could be better than having AMD leapfrog NVIDIA as that would really hot up competition and give us great products at reasonable prices.

Just look at Ryzen: so much excitement and hype before release, but all a bit meh once we knew what it could do and the forums went quiet.

here is my TItan X Pascal overclocked.

http://hwbot.org/submission/3478669_nicklas0912_3dmark___time_spy_titan_x_pascal_10984_marks

Almost same clocks, so clock for clock Titan X Pascal bring out a little more fps.
Look GPU score, he use 6950x, I use 6900K.

AMD should have never bought ATI......

If AMD didn't have ATI to prop them up, they'd probably gone under during the Bulldozer days. But yes, overall today both companies together are valued below what AMD paid for ATI.

"The card was able to sustain its overclock without breaking a sweat"

Can someone translate that? I don't know why technical writers use such a vague phrase. It means nothing.

It's explained in the very phrase that you quoted (incompletely): at those speeds, the card got only barely warmer. Which in turn means there's hope for significantly higher overclocking.

From what I know about Vega, things are looking very good actually. I don't think it'll dominate GTX 1080Ti, but I think it'll generally match it pretty well.

I don't have a screenshot as I have not run it in awhile, but the score is just a bit above what my overclocked Titan XP will do. Mine will not maintain the boost frequency consistently (due to power constraints) over 2000mhz but stays in the upper 1900mhz range. So essentially at the end its not that much different than my Titan XP and just gets up to the 2000+mhz range.

Still cool, I may still swap mine out just because of how cheaper it is.

Mabye you just lost the silicon lotty? mine run fine at 2050/2063Mhz. and score better than the Ti at 2062Mhz.

If AMD can come close in performance and under cut Nvidia like they did to Intel they will sell a shit ton of Vega cards.
