Newegg Repents for Overpricing AMD APUs by Partially Refunding Customers

Flush your cache. The price was changed back the first day I noticed.
Yea, nope it's still the same. I've looked from 2 different machines as well.

From independent sources i.e. me & google

Newegg has gone to shit. It may be the Chinese owners just being greedy or it may be they just want to manipulate our economy with $1500 Vega cards. I'd rather goto microcenter or even Amazon before buying anything from Newegg again. Its a shame Newegg resorted to shitting on long time loyal customers.

Even when Amd had lowered Msrps of existing ryzen lineup couple of months back, newegg didnt reflect those prices for more than a month. Newegg seems to have gone downhill in last couple of years.
The last couple of years?

Personally, I would argue that any retailer that allows the "inexperienced with them" to pay them an extra $2.99, or whatever it is, for "expedited service" that does nothing to speed your order to you is questionable at best. As I see it, anyone clicking that box is telling newegg, "sure, rip me off! I don't mind giving you money for nothing!" IMO, newegg is not much better than amazon. Recently, I have found that B&H seems the best - though I have never returned anything to them.

Repents?

Whut?! Who the hell are you to tell me what I can and can't write. I think you just like arguing now.

I see you're another one, lol.

Why are you getting offended by everything? I'm a nobody, just like the other 99.9% of the people running around on the internet and posting about stuff that probably no one else gives a sod.
So I think (if I dare so boldly) nobody "told you" anything, it was just a deduction based on the line that even you thought you shouldn't have written... if that makes sense.

Anyhow I'm not here to offend you and if I did, I'm sorry.

As of right now @ Newegg:

Ryzen 3 2200G: BACKORDER status and back up to $129.99
Ryzen 5 2400G: IN STOCK and back up to $189.99

 Good job Newegg.

I'm not offended, but thanks. You did tell me not to post, hence, my remark to you.

Now how about doing the same for RX Vega 56/64.

To be honest, you can't blame them about Vega, unless it is really possible to buy this card elsewhere at a lower price.
In Canada, I have to say Newegg served me the best, comparing to NCIX/CanadaComputer. Their Threadripper was available on day 1 and at the lowest price among the sellers which I could attribute to their US logistic network. Meanwhile, all other sellers were on pre-order, let alone they had it for another 100-200 more......

Only things I have purchased from b&h is photography gear. Their service is definitely better than newegg and amazon. Amazon I have mixed experience with them, returns are big headache with them. The only benifit of amazon for me residing in India is they have customs prepay which has saved me a lot of time from going to customs office to get packages cleared.

It's no surprise these are climbing back up in price already.

Considering the current prices GPU's are fetching, I could see the 2400G selling for $250 and the 2200G for $150.

If you can find the DDR4 required (or already have it), the 2400G is a solid gaming CPU that comes with a built-in GPU as strong as the (currently) $150 RX 550.

Loll, Newegg Canada has them listed at $209.99 CAD and at current exchange rate comes to $168.05 USD. :rockout:

At least its not a 40% increase like it is here in AUS....

Next up they refund the $100's of dollars they overcharged/are overcharging on gpu's! .... not.

Lol... Newegg is sorry for over pricing?

What about all those overpriced GPU, especially at the height of LTC boom
Dude stop bringing up mining this and mining that. LTC is not even mined with any graphic cards, they are mines with things called ASIC machines.

Lol... Newegg is sorry for over pricing?

Oh please, you would do the same if you had lots of gpus to sell. And check if those prices come from 3rd party sellers and not Newegg.

Its higher now

WTH are you talking about? This is wrt Newegg & how they made GPU shortage even worse during LTC boom & really do you not remember their history?

Tell us all how one website made the entire world run a shortage of GPUs.

LTC is the coin called Litecoin, Litecoin are only mined with ASIC machines. ASIC machines are different from graphic cards. good lord......

Let me rephrase that ~ exasperated GPU prices?

Right & you never heard of mining LTC on the first (gen) GCN cards? Either you're being intentionally obtuse or you support no holds barred profit making, which is it?

LTC mining on any graphics card ended, what(?) more than 3 or more years ago.
Of course I support any business that makes a profit, I run my own business so I know how it works. Some of my items are only 20-30% profit margins but some others are over 300% margins. I knew someone personally who made over 1000% margins on hand crafted items.

Well good for you! Glad you got in and ordered on day 1. That makes you slightly unique with all your extra snowflakes. I'm sure every country has someone with their own special awesome story to tell.

Newegg used to have great customer service for the 15 years I've dealt with them, until they sold out to the chinese, never had an order get messed up, or a return (if there was one) get "lost" like PerformancePCS did to me twice. After the big change in ownership, prices increased on a few items here and there, nothing conspicuous at first, then 3rd party sellers were added that were [mostly] from China and shipping became a nightmare of "hurry up and wait" for the slow boat from China (pun). If there was any stock left in North America it didnt appear to be much.

The price gouging on Newegg was made more visible to everyone with the release of Vega. So ya I can blame them about Vega and yes you could buy the card at a lower price from other stores if there was any in stock at the time. The sad part was that some other retailers were basing their prices on what Newegg was charging. I was lucky to get my 1080 gaming X for $500 (or close to that). Now go look at the prices.

Newegg lost my loyalty, the only time I will buy from them again is if no one else has what I need.

It's as if people don't understand that GPUs are used for mining in different crypto currencies and then have it converted to Litecoin or Bitcoin.

I guess so. I used to be fun answering questions from people about cryptocoins. People dont understand the laws of business profits and supply and demand. I am done answering any treads about crypto.

You're not answering anything, neither was I asking. Somehow you thought I didn't know what LTC was/is & did also you forgot that Newegg have been jacking GPU prices quite a few times in the past?

There are more people who understand about profit/loss on this forum than you think, for instance I also run business outside of tech. So don't go assuming that whatever Newegg does is what I'd do or anyone else, if we were in Newegg's shoes! According to you Martin Shkreli must be hero for giving insane returns to his shareholders right, everyone else be damned?

Everyone is jacking up prices, its not just Newegg or Amazon or some other online or brick and mortar store.
If you know what LTC is then why did you say anything about 1st gen GCN. Who cares about that, that was years and years ago.
I still dont know what you are trying to say or do.
