NVIDIA is ready with its new flagship halo consumer graphics card, the TITAN RTX. Several video bloggers such as LinusTechTips have apparently already been sampled with this card, and are probably under NDA not to reveal specifications. Given that "Turing" is the only NVIDIA architecture capable of RTX, NVIDIA could be building the TITAN RTX on the largest "TU102" silicon. The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti does not max out this silicon, leaving NVIDIA room to do so with the TITAN RTX.

A maxed out "TU102" should feature 4,608 CUDA cores, 288 TMUs, 96 ROPs, in addition to 576 tensor cores and 72 RT cores. NVIDIA could also max out the 384-bit wide GDDR6 memory bus, and equip the TITAN RTX with 12 GB of video memory. Using 14 Gbps GDDR6 memory chips, NVIDIA can achieve 672 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The TITAN RTX card itself looks similar to the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition graphics card, but with an illuminated "TITAN" logo on top. The card still draws power from a pair of 8-pin PCIe power connectors, and it's likely that NVIDIA is using the same PCB, perhaps with additional capacitors. Pricing and availability is anyone's guess. Given that the RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition was launched at $1,200, we agree with some of our community members' speculation that $1,800-2,000 doesn't seem implausible.

Update Dec 3: The Titan RTX has launched now for $2,499.

I wonder if another titan a guy spends on just to find the far cheaper TI is almost as good . use to see a lot of that crying , though I find it funny the 280ti came out first this time . hmmmmm.... maybe this time the titan guys get all there moneys worth ?

Almost an identical step up as we saw in Pascal, slightly more cores, slightly higher memory bandwidth, a small bump in VRAM, and likely the same power limit as the 2080 Ti.

2% faster for a 50% higher MSRP with no AIB options.

If NVIDIA wanted RTX to take off they should have produced a Dual-GPU card and doubled down on RT cores instead of another Titan that nobody is going to buy except for a handful of enthusiasts.

I'll let you know! I enjoy buying tech because its new and fun and I can hands on learn about it. Its really a shame to get caught up in the gamer mindset. Of course something like this can game, and of course something like this probably isnt as good as a quattro for rendering.

Its cool tech though.

Will this anti-NVIDIA whining ever stop? NVIDIA doesn't force you to buy any of their GPUs ever. You don't like their pricing? Don't buy NVIDIA then.

Ever since AMD has stopped being competitive at the top, everyone has suddenly become (price)sensitive and NVIDIA has become a monster.

Meanwhile NVIDIA keeps innovating unlike Intel which has been rebadging Skylake for the past three years and IceLake is nowhere to be seen.

I'm impressed by nvidia's marketing & branding on their Titan line of products and the money they are able to squeeze out of their consumers for just a fully functioning chip. It's really something.

I would love to have this for the tensor cores. Really, that is what I am considering getting a 2070 for. I really want to play with some tensor cores but I don't really know how exposed they are on the r/gtx line.

I got a Xeon PHI a few months ago and ordered an intel nural compute stick cant wait to look at tensor!

Based on a 24 month product rollout cycle that's too good a deal for a Titan actually.

This is why we can't have nice things. The RTX line is grossly overpriced and it is obvious to everyone from tech journalists to long time gpu purchasers that something is really wrong. Being vocal about permanent hike they are trying cause to enjoy our hobby is not just expected, but encouraged so that Nvidia doesn't try this crap in the next generation. If the only problem we have to deal with are some people taking an elitist attitude about Nvidia ridiculous behavior, we can deal with that because it's easy to ignore. By the same token, if the anti-Nvidia whining bothers you have the choice to ignore it and move on or complain. Your choice won't change someone sees the 2000 series as insane either way because you clearly aren't thinking for the benefit of others who want reasonably price computer parts.

that is the true purpose of a real flagship card.. it exists just because it can.. its not meant for general consumption and it will be priced accordingly..

Alright for some if you've got the money, I guess. But I'm strictly on a constrained budget along with a lot of other people. NVIDIA's pricing for RTX is ridiculous, and if you want to essentially throw money down the toilet for 10% more performance and a GB extra vram, that's fine by me! (It's your money, but I'd rather get 2080 Ti + donate the rest to a Cat Rescue charity, if I really wanted that tier performance).

I just upgraded from 1060 to 1070, if I keep up with this pace I am getting Titan sometime 2034.

As much as nobody likes the pricing, NOBODY needs to buy it. Like a Bugatti, or a Rolls Royce, if you don't need it, stop moaning about it.

I'd love one but I refuse to buy one (I can afford one thanks to a dead grandparents goodwill, but I won't sully her memory by wasting money on something I really don't need).

And if you want RTX, just put shiny foil over you monitor and flash your RGB LEDs on it, instant real time ray tracing.

You see this shows a bit of construed judgement imo.

Its your money

It sure is!

but I'd rather get 2080 Ti + donate the rest to a Cat Rescue charity

What makes you think I cant do that anyway? Are people that can afford this type of thing automatically profiled as money burning successful businessmen that look down on the common man in their vests? Unfortunately that is what alot of members seem to be going for.

Price performance vs cost? of course attack them as a company 100% this is a capitalist market. Attack people that can afford the card? Why? what purpose does that serve other than proving your salty?

Can you imagine a game like Alien: Isolation with Raytracing support? Mind = blown. Or any new survival horror games. They will ooze with atmosphere.
