so you're saying take WOW Classic off that list?:kookoo:
Might as well, since it's not a new game and it's basically the 2005 game within the new engine (I think), with mostly the same mechanics.
It does look from the votes that WoW Classic is a niche product for a few nostalgic dudebros and doesn't have a chance to "win" (as if there's a prize), so there's that.

I'm an adult and I dont feel its targeted at my age bracket. IDK who all has seen age demographic charts before, but saying adult is like saying your car tires are flat on one side.
I’m basing on subject and content. I’m 52 and I am fine with most of the content. Half the subjects and terms in some of these games would not be understood by kids.

As for the "adult" target, as somebody nearing 40s, I don't feel like I am the target in any way. The last game I felt was relatively adult was Witcher 3. The SW game story was puerile and cheap. Outer World was meh for the few hours I put into it. Gears is puerile. Control was a bit better, the imprisoned being and the consequences were more of a mature theme IMO. Borderlands 3, well, I mean... err... there's a story in it?

At the same time, I can't really say gaming was truly adult themed, ever. There were decent stories in games like Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age Origins, KotOR, but overall they were still intended to kids, quite obviously so. Even the more edgy games like The Darkness were still adolescent themed. GTA5 had a few mature themes in it, related to the shallowness of modern city life, social media, hipster techbros, family troubles, growing in the hood and drug ridden rural communities. Pretty good story line.

I'm one of those who voted for Quake2RTX. It was a remake/remaster, but was really well done! The fact that it was free does not factor in as I would been willing to pay for it.

Metro: Exodus, Borderlands 3 and Control have yet to be released, so they can't be GOTY for 2019. RDR2 is really good, but was broken at launch. Sekiro is the only reasonable choice.

 The very large number who have played them for anywhere between 6 and 11 months would disagree with your wishful thinking version of reality.

Are you sure you don’t mean The Outer Worlds? It is near the end with 8.3% of the vote.

Being a year or two older ;), I favor games that have more rpg aspect to them, shooters ( first person and otherwise) I just could not get into, I was a huge failure in DOOM and HL, lol. Although, I did like watching streamers play FPS types, I just couldnt couldnt see myself purchasing them. I did find that the "younger adults" flock more to shooters than other games.

Mostly I’m not a FPS type either, although there are a few I play now and again. I’m more a deliberate stealth type when I play FPS games.

i'd recommend you darksiders series. kb&m controls are a bit clunky and limited camera movement is annoying but games have interesting story (it's not the best but it isnt too bad either) and pleasant mix of puzzles platforming and combat.
story goes as follows
darksiders genesis
darksiders 1
darksiders 2
darksiders 3
darskiders 1 is console port and rpg elements are a bit shy bit genesis and 2 have superior (compared to darksiders 1) rpg systems that allow adjustment to different play styles. you dont have flexibility of more complex games but on the other hand you are not distracted with skill builds/gear adjustments too much.
havent played darksiders 3 yet but it has tpu review you can check.
i am at about 2/3 into the genesis and beside locked camera movement and zoom in/out and clunky m&kb controls i dont have anything bad to say about it. if you go deep into details there some things that not so well done but i dont have too big expectations about it and i am enjoying it a lot.

ps darksiders 1&2 have remastered editions on gog for about 5 euro on sale

I really want to play the new Metro but I want RTX to play it and well I am to cheap to fork out the cash for it.

You can enable RTX with Pascal too. Yeah it will run slow (25-45 fps depending on settings for your card @1080p), but you can see what it has to offer. And to be honest, my opinion was "not too much". Control seems to be the only title which makes decent use of RTX, for now.

I am aware. I read a review or two and from what I saw it wouldn't be worth it on a GTX1080. I have no problem waiting and playing the game once I get a better card to do so on, I am waiting until RTX3XXX comes out to spend that kinda money on a video card and skipping RTX2xxx all together.

Last Light was a lot of work for my GTX 1080 @ 2560x1080

Unfortunately, the only games on this list I've played is Borderlands 3, although that was only on a PC at PAX briefly, and Quake II in non-RTX form. I very rarely buy games within the first 18 months of their release for 3 reasons:
  1. New games are expensive.
  2. Game patches post-release. I like my games nice and stable thank you.
  3. Expansions and additional content. A lot of the time this all gets bundled in with heavy discounts after a while.
I would love to pick up Control, Red Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil 2, and Sekiro in time though.

Only played BL 3 and DMC 5 from that list so my opinion is kinda limited but for me this game:

A Plague Tale: Innocence

I barely knew about this game till it was relased but it surprised me nicely, really enjoyed the whole story and the game in general.
I had to vote Metro Exodus because my other choice was not on the list. That would have been A Plague Tale: Innocence as a strong contender to Metro Exodus. I honestly would have had to flip a coin, despite them being two different genre's and playstyles. The story in Plague was excellent, and you really felt deeply for the characters.
Third vote for A Plague Tale: Innocence. That game surprised me as well. Came out of nowhere and was incredibly well-made (visuals, music, voice acting, writing etc). Found out after playing it that they created the game engine themselves to handle all the rats. Impressive stuff.

Of the games on that list, I've only played Division 2. I literally just bought Control so I can't speak to that yet and I might also grab Metro Exodus.

I tend to drift towards single-player, story-focused games. As such, some others on my list would be Observation, Eliza, Telling Lies, Afterparty and, while flawed, Life Is Strange 2.
