NVIDIA today released what is possibly its first official GeForce Game Ready driver with optimization for the release (RTM) of the Windows 11 operating system. GeForce 472.12 drivers come "game ready" for Windows 11, including a all the new graphics features introduced by the operating system. The drivers also pack optimization for "Alan Wake Remastered," including support for DLSS, which doubles frame-rates at 4K UHD. Also added is support for NVIDIA Reflex on "Deathloop," as well as the launches of "Diablo II: Resurrected," "Far Cry 6," "Hot Wheels Unleashed," "Industria," "New World," and "World War Z: Aftermath." The drivers also introduce CUDA 11.4.

NVIDIA also fixed a handful of issues. A stutter noticed in "Watch_Dogs Legion" with resizable-BAR enabled, has been fixed. A game crash with "Battlefield V" in DirectX 12 mode and HDR enabled, has been fixed. GPU clock speeds getting stuck at maximum with "Redshift3D" has been fixed. A bug with the upscaling factor setting in NVIDIA Control Panel, has been fixed. Grab the drivers from the link below.

I'm having a FineWine moment with Nvidia here as I have already finished the game and this new driver fixes the stuttering with ReBar in WD Legion  , it boosts FPS noticeably but ultimately pointless.

Checked NVinspector and Far Cry 6 is whitelisted for Rebar with this driver, seems like Nvidia is ready for Far Cry 6

Cool!
I'm still waiting until the final Kepler-supporting driver to update, since anything after 466.11 sticks my GPUs to 100% core/mem clocks.
If the final driver doesn't fix it then I'm staying on 466.11 forever.

@nguyen Even the Bloodline DLC you finished? Bloodline > Legion Main Quest AFAIK

Yeah I finished the Bloodline DLC, I enjoyed the main campaign more as I started my first playthrough in Resistance mode and it was quite challenging, while Bloodline feels more like a 3rd person shooter game, and quite easy too.
Watch Dogs Legion was actually the first watch dogs game I have played.

Can't wait for the inevitable "Windows 11 Issues" list coming soon

i pitty the fouls that will beta test windows 11 especially for gaming

I had a weird problem with this driver. The hash rate on my 3090 dropped to half like it was a LHR card. I had to DDU and go back to the previous driver. DDU and running 472.12 driver again caused the same problem. I'm running a founders edition.

I mine in downtime to save money for next upgrade. This is going to suck going forward if all new drivers cut my hash in half.

Given how contentious the mining/GPU shortage situation has been, I seriously doubt they would purposely insert that into the driver without full disclosure.
I just tested on an early (pre-LHR) 3080 and it's just the same hash rate as usual.
Given that ETH will be unprofitable to mine with GPU's by the end of the year, I wouldn't worry too much - guessing you are mining ETH, which is the only crypto impacted by LHR limits, unless you reply otherwise?

Yeah it's ETH for now. I tested both the DCH and the standard driver from TPU and from NVidia. I can't work around the issue. Maybe the next driver release will work for me. Hopefully it comes out before I decide to play Far Cry 6. Going back and forth with DDU is painful.

My 3070 non-LHR actually has the same hashrate as before too, just as a datapoint.

Haven't had a single issue. From day one last year. Even EA stuff works. All games...flawless. Windows 11 is great. 4.5 out of 5.0 .

Ditto.

Why? it's working quite well

Did you make sure to do the usual reboot, check OC/UC settings were reapplied and all that jazz?

This is what tier 1 driver support looks like. Take notes, AMD
Hey mods can you finally ban this troll? All i see are his posts in AMD related topics. He contributes nothing to the discussion.

As for AMD they actually released Win 11 supporting driver days ago. Tho i believe its not WHQL yet. Oh and Nvidia also had Win 11 support in previous driver so this is not their first WHQL to support Win11.

I find it easier to ignore such nVidia fanatics (most nVidia card owners are pretty reasonable), they don't use AMD cards, and rehash arguments about AMD drivers being bad based on past complaints (sure, AMD drivers aren't perfect, but have delivered pretty solid performance for me). Such peeps have bought into the nVidia ecosystem and know nothing else, so you can't blame them for their ignorance.

Had both 3080 and 6800XT and while Nvidia drivers where more stable with my system, the AMD ones where just fine. I massively prefer AMD control panel to nvidias

They've gotta be rude or an ass to get banned.
Fanboys posting dumb comments usually just get (politely) mocked, which serves to better educate random readers as to actual facts

Yes. Same Afterburner settings and mining settings. It would report the same hash rate, but efficiency would for hours be between 30 and 50% giving me half the effective hash rate. The highest efficiency I saw over two hours was 58%. Going back to the old driver after a DDU made things normal. Gaming performance was not tested.

Actually, I hope AMD is NOT taking notes. This driver refuses to install on my laptop, with the message "This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows". On the desktop it installed fine. Both are Windows 10.

Later edit:

I think I found the cause. It seems on laptops that can turn off the NVIDIA GPU when it's not needed, you can't update the driver while the NVIDIA GPU is off. After I connected my laptop to the charger, which enabled the NVIDIA GPU, the driver updated properly.

My laptop has 3 GPUs:
- an AMD Cezanne iGPU
- an NVIDIA 3050 Ti 4GB internal GPU
- an NVIDIA 3080 16GB external GPU

Apparently the NVIDIA driver refuses to update when the laptop is only using the AMD iGPU.

well yeah, it wont install if theres no GPU

that's your laptops 'problem'... and who the heck installs drivers on battery power? it's like flashing a BIOS in a thunderstorm

Hi i get the same problem with an evga 3070 do you have some solutions ? I do ddu with an other driver the same problem ...

My 3070 non-LHR actually has the same hashrate as before too, just as a datapoint.
Me dosn't work :/ my hashrate is very low now

Just a random guess, but maybe it's the miner program you are using? Try a different one?

You know yours is a non-LHR, right? They have not been sold for a while.
