Which Monitor ? Poll

They're pretty low end at sub $200. Mid range is like $300-500, high end is $600-900, halo is $1000+

All I and others are saying is that you're basically looking at the cheapest 1440p high refresh rate panels available, so expect compromises.

Especially considering you plan to do video editing.

From what I gather the people saying no good monitors are sub $200 is because they only saw the price I put in the poll but they didn't read the full thread to see the displays I linked. The monitors I linked are all above $300, I'm just not paying the MSRP.

Replacing 3 1200p monitors with a 1440p monitor isn't great IMO. You should be looking at UW (but not a bargain basement 100 Hz one), or 4K, or more than one monitor.

One of them is a 2020 monitor so getting a discount is good.

The Acer doesn't have any reliable reviews so I'd avoid that one.

This one seems a lot better than the other three from the specs, no real reviews though.

1st. Flat panel, curved is a gimmick for me. Same with ultrawide, I like the vertical space a lot more than the horizontal.

I have a LG 27GN950 4k/144Hz and there is no way I would go for lower res at this point.
I'd go with a 4k 144Hz/100Hz or at least an ultra wide if you like these. With my 4k I can always go 1440p but i never do. refresh rate for me 100/144 is more than enough to consider it a fast enough gameplay but I dont use it much though with the games I play certain games sure but there isn't a lot of them. The 4k resolution aspect of a screen is way more important to me since any game can benefit from it. Refresh rate depending on game.

4K high refresh rate is still not affordable especially at a decent size.

ive gone for the 3440/1440 100hz cus ive got one and love it but to tell the truth other than with that ufo thingy i can not tell the diff between 60 and 100 hz so its wasted on me.

Same here. High refresh rate is vastly overrated and pushed onto us by competitive gaming. The variable refresh rate is nice, though. No screen tearing even at low FPS.

I pulled the trigger on this monitor.
Acer gave a discount and it ended up being only $200.19 with 2 Year warranty

I would still try to get a 4k screen. There are several there which are OK in my opinion.
If 4k is out of reach for you, 1440p is the only option and you have a great number of monitors available. maybe there these are a little bit expensive but unless 8k hits mainstream, 4k will stay in this price spot I suppose.
I don't know your preference about refresh rate but for me going over 144Hz is a little bit pointless.
There are great 1440p screens with 144Hz or 160Hz fairly cheap. Perhaps you can consider this.

I bought a monitor now

I ended up going ACER AOPEN 34” UW 3440x1440 @144Hz. It was a hard deal to past up for $200.19 after shipping and tax

Shame TPU has so few monitor reviews. Page 1 goes as far back as 2019.

It's hard to do a proper review. CALman software alone is $1,000. Add everything up and it's not cheap to do these reviews. Especially if you can't keep the product afterwards.

I really do love this monitor out of all I've ever used in 30 years.

Reason i paid silly money for it, is i own the Samsung QN95 65inch TV that's same as monitor just 120hz.

Used this TV for a few years and seen the monitor was similar tech so bought it - no regrets


Samsung G8 = 240hz @ 4k with HDR 2000

Don't buy 1440p on 32 inch and get 144 Hz minimum.

3440x1440 @ 144 Hz was my vote.

100 Hz is too low really. 120-144 Hz is bare minimum. 120 Hz OLED that is. 144 Hz if LCD.

What did you honestly expect?

Your replacing 3x24 or 27 with a single 34? I would have thought you were looking at getting at least 2 if not 3 when you were looking at such a low priced monitor.
