Frametime spikes and stuttering after switching to AMD CPU?

im kinda blind i think, what do i have to press here to get the list that you are getting
Click on the message "Updates are available..." above, then select Indexes and OK on the next screen that appears, like in your previous post

For starters, select Samsung NVMe Controller and Micron NVMe Controller and click Install on the left (below "Expert mode"). The tool will download archives containing those drivers and install them. After that, reboot your PC and test. Also, are you sure you're using the latest chipset driver from AMD's website (not the manufacturer's website?)

not on this windows installation so far, i had it on my other installation but since i had to reinstall windows again 2 days ago

For now just update the NVMe Controller drivers and see if it helps.

I had the same problem with micro stutters, when msi afterburner was installed, after going from intel to amd.
I found out that there is a bug in the nvidia drivers, since like 10 years, that never got fixed, that caused stutter if afterburner reads out the power consumption of an nvidia gpu.
after stopping afterburner from doing that, by greying out the option and restarting the pc, it was all fixed.
alternatively you can de install afterburner.

I tried that already but I appreciate the help, I once tried a game right After installing nothing but Windows and gpu drivers but the stutters were still present

time for new setup -- enough faffing. You tried to get rid of gremlins.

did you, by any chance installed the AMD Chipset driver package (latest one)? also what Windows power plan you using?

edit: sorry if this has been asked a few pages back (TLDBR)

i tried both chipset drivers, the one from my mainboard and the one from AMD both didnt help.

Im using either Balanced or High Performance both dont make a difference though

kinda yea, im still thinking about what i should get, i read a little bit in the internet that Intel 13/14th gens are kinda a ticking bomb? so i thought i maybe give the 12600kf a try or would that be wasted?

lots of suggestions already made. tbh i'd just backup my data and reinstall os, making sure all previous drivers are gone in the new installation. if issues persist then you start considering hardware fault. I'm guessing either driver or cpu related. have you checked the cpu pins? also would be nice to know if the stutter happens no matter what task you're doing.

i reinstalled os 3 times already, i didnt check the pins tbh, im probably gonna get a different cpu and mainboard via amazon to test it out, and if it works i send my old mainboard and cpu back to the seller sadly i wont get the money back since its already 8 months ago, but maybe i get a replacement which i could sell then (but im not sure if they will take it back since i dont know if they check for lags in games)

if you already did multiple reinstalls, assuming you made sure no bad drivers made it through, then next on the list is cpu or gpu. assuming they're not thermal throttling, make sure they're plugged in right. check cpu pins. check ssd/hdd. reset bios to default.

yea i reseated my gpu multiple times, i also tried my old gtx 1060 3gb i had less lags with it in cs2 but not 0 (GPU usage was always over 90% though is that maybe why i had less stutters?) my RTX 3070 is at like 40-50% in cs2

Temps are also fine
CPU never goes above 70°C
GPU never really goes over 68°C

12600kf is awesome - very smooth.

Since LatencyMon seemed to indicated storage issues you could try swapping in a different SSD. As long as you buy it from somewhere that has a good return policy I think it'd be worth checking. I wouldn't install either of the original SSDs for the test, and I'd put the SSD in the first SSD slot.

go to nvidia control panel and apply a global max frame rate of 90fps and try all those games again and let us know how that goes. also ignore any results from fortnite, that game is a stutter fest regardless.

what version of windows u are using? maybe you could try to install the 21H2 IoT Enterprise LTSC version of W10, it has no bloatware and no apps on it, basically only the naked os. i use it and it is awesome for gaming, because there is nothing in background stealing your cputime.
maybe give it a try.

i will probably go for that then. im still so unsure if its maybe my gpu or not

what could be a good game i could test on both gpus GTX 1060 3gb/RTX 3070)

i tried both of my ssds both didnt make a difference, i also only tried one ssd at a time

Honestly the 14600KF doesn't timebomb like the 14900K/F - and also not a furnace like the 700/900 so it's still a great buy.

Disable Virtualization (if you don't use VMs) so windows doesn't force VBS on in the bios and you get an extra 10-20% fps.

In all honesty this doesn't look like a gpu issue. Seems more cpu/storage related (all the games you showed are mostly cpu bound). I would check to see if the stutters correlate with disk usage on the task manager. Also just for kicks, limit your CPU wattage in bios to something like 65W and re-test.

That's what I would grab if going lga 1700 the raptorlake core is also less memory sensitive due to the extra cache I believe.

Unless the cost difference is substantial I agree the 14600, any variant, is a better buy than the 12600
