With MS Defender being integrated into Windows so tightly, and at no additional cost, we're wondering, do you still use another antivirus? Or did you even disable it because you know what you are doing?
 
Why Kaspersky is missing?
 
F-Secure, used that since Kaspersky was no longer reliable (Since 2022)
 
Out of habit, I've been using AVG Free since 2007, making it hard to change. The antivirus runs well and is transparent from a performance point of view. The jam-packed installation can be trimmed to essentials. The only negative is its aggressiveness with false positives.

Windows Defender causes a delay in Explorer when there are lots of executables or shortcuts. AVG doesn't exhibit this slowing down on my computer.
 
If I am using Windows->I use Microsoft Defender. There are other good choices, but I change my OS too often->Installing AV application everytime->I am too lazy for that.

I have been using CachyOS for 2 months->no Antivirus installed. I could install ClamAV but... ...no need for it.

What made Kaspersky unreliable? Or was it just the fear-mongering?
 
Was using Avira free in the past. When Avira started changing from a simple antivirus to a suite of security applications, making installation more of an annoyance ("no I don't want to install this", "no don't bother me about that feature", "no I don't care about the new 75% special discount") I just gone with the Windows option. I even had won a 1 year license for Bitdefender about 6-7(?) years ago and never bothered to use it.
 
Defender now, none before.
 
Aren't AVG, Avast, and Norton all the exact same defender engine underneath? I mainly use Windows Defender with a rare deep scan with MalwareBytes

as there is only a black and white vote I had to pick NONE.

Windows untouched. A sometimes updated defender. Most of the time w11 pro will get the montly update package than the updater is paused. Playstoregame windows - who cares for defender. It's for gaming only. Does the question only applies for gaming or the full use of the personal computer?

gnu gentoo linux is free from such bloatware like virusscanners since 2006. I tend to force other means to tighten the box. I highly doubt there are many linux kernel users out there with so many manual config files set per hand. Or who check what is being installed and what can be uninstalled and such. This also applies for the linux kernel itself which options are set.
 
These polls and most reviews, never include Webroot..... I have used it for years and it has saved me a few times.

Now running Malwarebytes on top as well.
 
Kaspersky. But also because it comes with VPN. I'll consider phasing it out once all licenses have run out.
 
Windows Defender.

I remember the last time I had a virus, because that's how rarely I've had to deal with one. It was back in 2007, the Windows Vista days. Haven't had a virus since.
 
Defender is just simpler and doesn't have a bunch of useless features like "Broken Registry Delete".
Plus, its already enabled when you install windows.
 
For usual business, I use Windows Defender.
For something serious, I use this:

None - I'm using Linux.
 
Hadn't been using an anti virus for years even before switching to Linux.

I used to use kaspersky (AVP at its origins).

But the latest version is bad, spent hours to try to fix an issue with it, to discover it was just a broken functionality from windows 10 they did not update for win11

Also windows defender detection rate has improved a lot over the years that it now measure up to the other top AV, so why bother use something else.
 
On Linux, I use none :) On my Windows-based work laptop I use Windows Defender.

For our clients we currently use SentinelOne EDR (which is kinda not an antivirus, but kinda is) and will be swapping to Huntress EDR coupled with Windows Defender (the advanced one you get from Office 365 Business?).

For personal use I just recommend Defender. I don't trust any of the free antivirus products anymore. And if people want a paid product I recommend ESET Antivirus.
