According to Albert Penello, group marketing manager for Xbox hardware, the Xbox 360 console could be equipped with a Blu-ray add-on in the future if HD DVD fails to take off. Penello said:
It should be consumer choice, and if that's the way they vote, that's something we'll have to consider. I fundamentally don't think this has a significant impact on Xbox 360 versus PS3. You can't say it's not a bummer, not a setback, but I've seen this battle declared over so many times. I want consumers to have a voice in this and I think there are a lot of consumers who bought HD DVD who are going to have a say in how this shakes out.

WOW M$ bowing to the pressure from Sony. Thats is just amazing. Im so glad I have a PS3(I am not a fan of X-box but I waited it out for quite some time to move to HD and Sony had the better product for me)I have mainly used my consoles for Media more so than I game on them.

I have chosen wisely:pimp:

They said this at the last CES as well I think(or this time of year last year).

Actually they have said this every year. Its always been possible for Microsoft to have a Blu Ray Drive instead of an HD DVD drive

Gawd just unify already and make an HBlu RayD DVD Drive! XD

ms still make money off the VC-1 codec which has been licensed out to blu-ray.... so who is the really winner here!

:respect: Microsoft

I cant believe Microsoft is saying this. I honestly dont want just one format. Id like HD DVD to survive. Offers more choices and competition.

Let's just all go to Blu-ray and get this whole ridiculous format war over with.

absolutely!
I guarantee if BR was the only format, I wouldn't have been able to afford a player.

Well Its always a good idea to have a plan B :D

Why do we have to do what you tell us to. If Wanrner had gone to HD DVD you wouldnt be saying that now would you?
